Creative Crafter’s Escape was the best!

I just want to say thank you to my team mates on the Stamping New England Team for our first full day retreat last Saturday the 17th filled with Stampin’ Up! fun.  We had soooooo much fun!!!  And we are working on a second day for October 14th!  So mark your calendars now!  You don’t want to miss it!

Creative Crafter's EscapeThis is the hall all setup before everyone came in.  It looks so peaceful (and clean).

Each person had 6′ of space to themselves to work on their projects.  We also had tables with lots of great retired product for sale.

There were 3 classes offered during the day featuring product from the new 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalog.

A Daisy class featuring the new Delightful Daisy stamp set taught by Jeannie Nielsen.

The second class was a Beautiful 3D Frame taught by Debby Donovan.  These frames are made with the Hightide Stamp set and Colorful Seasons stamp set and framelits.

And the 3rd Class was a Stunning set of cards made with the Stampin’ Up!  Hightide Stamp Set led by Margaret Galvez!

I can’t wait to see what else my team designs using some of the new sets in the gorgeous 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalog!

…..what do you use to plan?

One of the first things that I decided I needed to buy from the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog is the Love Today Planner.
The great thing about this planner is you build and customize it to meet your needs.  This means that you do need to assemble the planner.  Never Fear, I am going to walk you thru how to build the Stampin’ Up! Planner.  But It will help you get organized and track your daily activities and life!
When you open the planner there are lots of pieces to it.

The planner includes:
1.  A Binder
2.  Monthly dividers
3.  Calendar pages
4.  Detail weekly pages
5.  Clear photo protector pages
6.  2 pockets
7.  Lots of stickers to decorate and mark individual pages.  They make it fun to check off those tasks each day!

Now – How to build your Stampin’ up! Planner

1.  THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT – Separate out the detail weekly pages.  The pages are divided by Mon, Tues. Wed. on one side and then Thurs., Fri., Sat., and Sun. on the other side.  Some of the back of the T,F,S,S pages have a list page.  This back page is for the end of the month.  Make a separate pile of the pages with the list on the back of the T, F, S, S page.

2.  Since this is June – I decided to start with June as the first month.  So I added the Monthly divider pages to my binder first.  The front of each Calendar month is a sheet with colored blocks which I plan on using to plot our my goals for each month.  Perfect for tracking what my goals are for each month.

3.  Next I added the calendars themselves.  Each calendar is blank so you will need to pull out your cell phone or family calendar to mark which day the month starts on and how many days there are in the month.  If you have a cute little number stamp set – you can stamp the numbers!

4.  Next add 3 of the detail weekly pages  and add one of the pages with the list on the back for the last page for that month.  You will need to write in the number for each day of the month on the detail weekly pages.  Make sure to start with the actual first day of the  month.  For example if Wednesday is the first day of the month, make sure you start numbering for that month with Wednesday.  I would add the numbers from the previous month on the Mon. and Tues.

Once you finish assembling, I added the 4 photo pocket pages.  These will be great to put all the pictures that people give you in one place to store until you can file or scrap them!

There are also 2 pocket pages which will be good to hold receipts until you record your expenses.

I love the stickers.  i used them to Decorate the Cover of my planner and some of the divider pages.  I am planning on using them to mark special events and to mark things done on my daily to do lists!.

There are also 3 batches of post-it notes…  I added these to the inside of my binder so they are handy!

Whew!  That’s it!

Did you make it thru??  I know that it takes a little time – but I think it will
be worth it to have one place to record my day and all of my expenses…

I would love to be your demonstrator…  If you don’t have a demonstrator then click below to go to my online store. If your order is under $150 use the hostess code   QXV3NADB and I will send you a package of Pearl Jewels… I love to share hostess benefits with my customers!

Last Chance for…..

The month of May is winding down and some of the Stampin’ Up! retiring items are running low.  So don’t miss out!  I thought that over the next couple of days I will profile stamp sets and papers that are retiring.

Today I have chosen the Brithday Fiesta Bundle (142268) to showcase.  I love the festive spirit of this stamp set and designer papers!  I recently used the Birthday Fiesta stamp set and Festive Birthday Designer Series paper to design a class for Cinco de Mayo!  It was a huge success!

NOTE:  These are not my original cards but ideas that I found on Pinterest and CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) for this stamp set.

These are a couple of the cards that I designed with this set!  This card with the Cactus is sooo cute.  The hats and guitars and other accessories are cut out of the Birthday Fiesta Designer series paper.  And of course I used dimensionals to make the accessories pop!

The background on this second card is made by stamping the banner with stripes of multiple colors.
I will miss the Birthday Fiesta stamp set.  This set would be great to make party invitations, birthday cards or thank you notes!

So the Stampin’ Up! inventory report is saying low inventory for this bundle.  So don’t miss out!

Handmade Z Fold Graduation Card

Z Fold Graduation CardToday I am sharing a handmade Z Fold Graduation card that I made for my daughter this past weekend!

I am so proud of my baby girl (now 21).  She graduated with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Sacred Heart University on Sunday.  She has been accepted into a Masters Program at Case Western Reserve so is moving to Cleveland, Ohio at the end of the summer…  Eventually she wants to go to Medical school.  Anyway, back to the card.

I choose the colors of Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry since Sacred Heart’s colors are dark red and yellow – along with gray.
This card uses the Stampin’ Up!’s Birthday Blast stamp set with the Star Blast Edgelit dies.  But hurry and get your copy of this set. This set is retiring and will be gone at the end of May!  I also used the Star framelits to cut out extra stars.  The numbers are cut out with with the Large Number Framelits.
Handmade Z Fold Graduation Card
The Star Blast framelit was used to cut out an applique from Gold Glimmer paper and also from Red Glimmer paper.

So to make this card:
The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock scored at 5 1/2″ and 7 3/4″.  Fold the base into a Z shape.  Each panel of the Z is layered with Crushed Curry cardstock.  The front cross-panel is a 1″ x 11″ piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock scored at 5 1/2″ and 7 3/4″.  I then layered a 7/8″ x 11 inch piece of crushed curry card stock over this piece.  Fold it in the opposite direction of the card.  So the long side is matched up with the short side of the card.

Want more detailed instructions on making a Z fold card?  Check out this video that i recorded earlier this year on how to make a Z Fold Card.

Here are the supplies that I used for this card.

Delightful Daisy Card

Daisy DelightToday I am sharing a Delightful Daisy card made with the new Delightful Daisy Designer Series paper in the upcoming June Catalog.  I absolutely love this paper!!  It has so many beautiful patterns in it and coordinates so well with the Daisy Delight Stamp Set.

Here are the details of this card!  The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock.  Next is a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ layer of Old Olive cardstock and two coordinating pieces of the Delightful Daisy Designer paper each cut to 3 3/4″ x 2″. These overlap and are adhered to the Old Olive card stock layer.  Then a 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ strip of night of navy cardstock to cover the seam between the two pieces of paper.  This is covered with a piece of the new Daffodil Delight double stitched ribbon.

The daisy is stamped with Daffodil Delight ink and punched out with the corresponding daisy punch. The center is stamped with old olive ink and punched out with the 3/4″ circle punch.  A little Wink of Stella is added to the center to give it a little dazzle!  Do you like this card?  This is one of the cards that was designed and rejected for our Daisy Class!

This paper, Delightful Daisy Designer paper and Daisy Delight stamp set are being featured at my June 17th Creative Crafter’s Escape! My Creative Stamping New England Design team members are busy designing cards to be part of a Daisy Class that will be offered that day!  You don’t want to miss out!  You can check out information HERE on our Summerfest Getaway!

Sneak Peak – Stampin’ Up! In Colors

Friday I had a little fun in Marilyn’s Creative Playground with the new Stampin’ Up! In-colors!  A few of my team members came over and we played with some of the new stamp sets and papers on Friday!

Here I am sharing a sneak peak of the new Stampin’ Up! In-colors that will be available with the new Stampin’ Up! catalog in June!  I am so excited!  I love these new colors and they look so nice with the existing in-colors!

So the new In-colors are from left to right:

Berry Burst, Lemon Lime twist, Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig and layering down is a card made with Powder Pink.

I highlighted these colors using the new Designer Series paper made with these in-colors.  This designer paper was made using each of the 5 colors.  The new In-color Designer paper stack has 4 design patterns for each color.  If this pattern looks familiar it is because it was in this year’s catalog in a Night of Navy color which I affectionately called the Delft Paper since it had the look of Delft pottery!

The messages on the cards are stamped with the corresponding color and the Layering Love stamp set.  The messages are cutout with the Layering Square, ovals and circles framelits.  If you are an avid paper crafter like me, you need these framelits in your tool kit!  They are perfect for cutting squares, circles and ovals out of cardstock or for pictures in your scrapbooks!

What I like best about these colors is they are very bold and vibrant but pair nicely with the other in-colors!  Of course that is one of the advantages of using Stampin’ Up! products.  All the colors coordinate!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Easter

Happy EasterHappy Easter!  Today I am sharing a card that I made with the Stampin’ Up! Easter Message Stamp set and the Carousel and Cupcakes Designer Series paper.

The card base is a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of So Saffron cardstock scored at 4 1/4″.  The next layer is a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed with the Falling snow embossing folder.

The top layer is a piece of the Yellow Sunbeam DSP from the Cupcakes & Carousel Designer Series paper stack.  I love this paper!  I cut the paper to 3 7/8″ x 3″.

The Messages are stamped using Stampin’ Up! Black archival ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  These new framelits are great for cutting out a design that has the faux stitching around the edge.  This set of framelits has 4 ovals, 4 circles and 4 squares that fit with the Layering Oval, Circle and Square framelits.  For this card, I layered the message on a Scalloped oval cut from a piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.

The Cross is stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I used the new Watercolor pencils with a blender pen to color in the cross and the cloth on the cross.  I then cut out the cross with a pair of Stampin’ Up! Snips (my most used and favorite tool!).  The cross is mounted onto the card using the new Foam Adhesive Strips to add dimension.

Here are the supplies that I used to make this card.

Carousel Birthday All Occasion card

Today I am sharing a card that I made with the Carousel Birthday stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog.  I love the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series paper stack.  The paper has a very shabby chic look with a combination of great colors!  There is a Calypso Coral hue and a blue – Bermuda Bay hue.

This is my “stepped up” card with lots of detail.  I was looking for some cards to make for swaps at Stampin’ Up! OnStage event in Richmond.  I also wanted to make a card with more detail to keep for me and use for a future class.

Here are the two color combinations.

Here are the details of this card:

The card base is So Saffron cardstock cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.  Next is a layer of Pool Party cardstock that I have embossed with the Boho Chic embossing folder.  The center piece is a 4″ x 3″ piece of the Cupcakes & Carousels designer paper with a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock that is 4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″.

The Carousel horse is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink and colored with the Watercolor pencils and a blender pen.  These are stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock.  The Circle and Scalloped circle are cut out using the layering Circles Framelits.  The Baker’s Twine is part of the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishments kit.   For the detailed card, I stamped the horse a second time and layered it on the first horse to make the layer pop.  I added a touch of wink of Stella to the Bermuda Bay areas of the horse’s saddle which you can see in the close up.
The second card is made with the coordinating Calypso Coral color hue.  The card base is Very Vanilla cardstock.  The first layer is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock embossed with the Boho Chic Embossing Folder.  I used the small Pearl Jewels to accent the details of the saddle.

So which color combination do you like better?

Can’t wait to see what i get back for swap cards tomorrow!

Happy Stamping!
