Love the At Home with You Stamp set?

Do you love the At Home with You Stamp set??  At Home with You is one of my favorite sets from the new catalog!  There are so many different projects that you can make with this set and the coordinating thinlits!  You can make anything for any season or occasion!  This has to be one of the most versatile stamp sets in the new catalog!

One of the things that I love about this stamp is that you can cut the Door so that it opens and shows the inside of the house!

And Voila!  Check out the inside of this Beach House made with the At Home with You Stamp set!

I do have to warn you that this class is not an easy class.  These are very advanced cards and they do make use of a couple of stamp sets.  You can substitute similar sets for some of the designs.

The 3 primary stamp sets and thinlits used to make these cards are:
  • At Home with You
  • Ready for Christmas
  • Colorful Seasons

You can check out the details of this class HERE.

Enjoy and Happy Stamping!

Garden in Bloom Card

Today I am sharing a handmade card made with the Garden in Bloom stamp set from Stampin’ Up!.  This card was inspired bloom-w2by the color challenge from the Global Design Team for this week.  What a pretty color combination!
Colour Challenge

So the details on this card:
Cardstock:
1.  The card base is Flirty Flamingo cut to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″.
2.  The next layer is Whisper White – 4″ x 5 1/4″
3.  And last is a piece of Fruit Stand Designer paper cut to
3 3/4″ x 3″.  I cut this piece at an angle.

Time to Stamp:
1.  I stamped the flowers with Black Momento ink on the piece of Whisper white towards the middle/top of the card since I am going to add the Designer paper to the card.
2.  I stamped the large flower from the Garden in Bloom set with two leaves and the small flower that are partially covered by the Fruit Stand designer paper on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.   I also stamped a butterfly.  Next cut all of these out of the Whisper White cardstock. bloom-cu
3.  Now for the fun part – Coloring – I used a Blender Pen and my Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizazz ink pads to color the flowers and leaves.

Tip for coloring with Blender Pens:
Before you open your ink pad press down on the lid which will make a puddle of ink on the lid.  You can use the puddle of ink to pick up the color that you are coloring!  When you are finished with  a color and ready to move onto the next color just scribble onto some scrap paper until the blender pen runs clear.  The Blender Pen tips will get stained with color but as long as it runs clear you are ready to start with another color.
bloom inside
4.  Attach the Fruit Stand Deisgner paper to the front of the card.  I added a piece of ribbon over the seam of the DSP and White cardstock.  Then attach the flowers that you have cut out with dimensionals.
5.  Next I colored just the word “Friends” from the sentiment with a black marker and stamped that on top of the card.
6.  And of course you can’t forget the bling!!  I used Rhinestone Jewels on the center of the flowers.  And then I colored each of the flowers and the butterfly with the Clear Wink of Stella pen.  I just love the way that pen adds sparkle to a card.  Pictures just don’t do these colored items justice!
7.  Last I added the triangle that I cut from the Designer paper to the top of the inside of the card.  I colored the rest of the sentiment using my black marker and stamped this on the inside of the card.

I have to say that I really like the Fruit Stand Designer paper even though I didn’t purchase the Fresh Fruit stamp set…  I wish I could buy all the sets that I really like – but then where would I store them??

Here are the supplies that I used for this project:

Here are a couple of cards that were made at my last class on April 1st.  The first card was designed by Margaret on the Stamping New England Design Team using the Sale-a-bration set Wildflower fields.  Well a couple of my customers made her card and changed it up a little with color and designer paper.

Enjoy!

Another Field Flowers Card

100_9749eGood Morning! Here is another Field Flowers card that I pulled out of my stash for this set.   I actually made this card a couple of years ago, but wanted to show you another Field Flowers card.  This really is a beautiful set and can be used for a variety of things – weddings, thinking of you, sympathy, mother’s day, birthday, etc. The details on this cards: 1.  The card base is marina mist cut in half at 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ to make the card base. 2.  The background is night of navy cardstock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed with a victorian embossing folder which is no longer available.  If I were making this card today, I would use the beautifully baroque embossing folder. 3.  I added a little dimension to the background of this card by stamping with the En Francais background stamp with marina mist ink stamped off.  I then used the now retired set – Fresh Vintage (a SAB set from two years ago) and very lightly stamped a couple of flower images, stamping off on scrap paper first.  I then very lightly sponged the edges of the white cardstock. 4.  The flower stems are stamped with Always Artichoke ink.  The flowers are stamped with night of navy.  I stamped the background image first on a scrap paper to “stamp Off” and create a lighter image for the background of the stamp.  I then used the detail stamp with night of navy ink over the background image. 5.  This piece is layered onto marina mist card stock.  I scalloped the bottom edge of the card stock using the scallop trim border punch. 6.  Next I stamped the sentiment “with Love” with night of navy ink and punched it out with the oval punch.  This is layered onto a piece of night of navy card stock punched with the oval scallop punch. 7.  Last but not least are the Embellishments.  I used a layer of Victoria Crochet Trim and the pearl jewels to accent the center of the large flower and the scallop on the bottom of the floral layer. I hope you have enjoyed this card sample! signature line-003

Field Flowers with Etcetera Designer paper

Over the next couple of days I am going to share a few cards that I made with Field Flowers stamp set.  Even though this is not a new set – I found myself playing with it yesterday!! cape patio Before we get started with the cards, I thought that I would share a pic of my summer office.  As many of you know, I spend a good bit of my summer in Dennis on Cape Cod.  I know it is a difficult life but someone has to manage the teenage children! Today and yesterday have been perfect days.  The humidity has finally broken and the temps are in the 70’s.  Not too hot, not too cold.  So I have moved my computer outside for today.  It is very pleasant.  I can hear the waves and the kids playing on the beach (also the parking lot, but I am choosing to block that out LOL). 100_9752e   Ok on to some card shares!!  Yesterday I decided to play around with one of my favorite sets Field Flowers.  I saw a card on Ann Schach’s site that I absolutely loved so changed it up a little for what I needed.  Also – I wanted to use one of the new designer papers that I hadn’t opened yet… So I used the Designer paper Etcetera which has the colors Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Pool Party and Very vanilla.  I am really liking the Vintage look to this paper.    One of my customer asked for a Vintage class – I think this might be the designer paper to use!   So the details of these cards: 1.  the Card base is very vanilla with a layer of calypso coral cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. 2.  I liked the look of the old olive and pool party design as a background piece but then couldn’t decide which coordinating piece I liked better for the side. 3.  On the first card – I used a strip of the calypso coral pattern, making sure that I lined up the victorian pattern in the middle of my strip.  I love the look that these two papers together created and the way the seam of the two papers fell with the stripe in the coral paper.  It looks as if the paper is torn! 100_9750e But then I also like the Vintage look of the vintage newspaper piece.  So I tried a 1 1/4″ strip of this piece with the background.  I liked the two together but didn’t like the seam where the two pieces meet.  So I added a piece of trim that I made using the scallop trim border punch. 4.  The flowers and stems are stamped on a 2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of very vanilla card stock layered onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock.  The stems are stamped using old olive ink. 5.  The flowers are stamped on a scrap of very vanilla card stock with calypso coral ink.  This is a two part stamp – so I stamped the background piece first and stamped off on a scrap paper to make the coral a shade lighter.  Then for the detail of the flower, I used the second detail stamp and stamped with calypso coral at full strength. The flowers are stamped on scraps of very vanilla and cut out.  They are raised with dimensionals to pop off the card!  Of course I then had to enhance the flowers with a few pearls.  And my cards are complete! Perfect for a wedding card or Thinking of You card. So which card do you like best??  Leave me a message. Enjoy your day! signature line-003

Another Chalk Talk sample

Here is another 100_9370 card that I made with the Chalk Talk stamp set.  Don’t forget that this stamp set and the framelits can be bundled together for a discount!! The cardstock on this card is Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party with a layer of the AFternoon Picnic designer paper.  I do love this combination of subtle colors!   The tag is stamped with White Craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder.  I then stamped the tag again using wisteria wonder ink on whisper white card stock and cut out just the center tag. This tag is cut out with the framelits dies and layered onto a piece of Wisteria Wonder chevron ribbon. I added a few pearl jewels to the corners to add a little bling to the card. Enjoy! signature line-red

Chalk Talk Stamp Set

Good Morning! 100_9372 Today I am posting a card that I made with some of the new stamp sets and designer paper from the new catalog!   I love the combination of colors in this card.   This card is made with the Afternoon Picnic designer paper.   The cardstock is Pool Party for the base, with a layer of Wisteria Wonder.  THe tag in the center is So Saffron (my stand-by yellow).   I stamped the tag in Wisteria Wonder ink and cut it out with the Chalk Talk framelits.  The There’s You is stamped in coastal cabana (one of the new in-colors) and punched out with the large oval punch.  Don’t forget that the Chalk Talk stamp set and framelits are a bundled set and there is a discount for ordering the two together (pg. 12).  This is a great versatile set with greetings for any occasion.  Just pair it up with your desired designer paper. Then the corners looked a little bare to me, so I embellished them with the pearl jewels.  You can color the pearls with a sharpie marker – so I made them to  match the so saffron cardstock and added a regular pearl to the center of the Wisteria Wonder tag.  All of this is layered on a piece of the new So Saffron Chevron ribbon! 100_9372_closeup signature line-red   Enjoy this beautiful day!!   Interested in placing an order?  I have an open order that I will be closing tomorrow June 16th.  The hostess code is UCAPRQQP.  Enter this number on the order screen and your order will go into the queue immediately and ship directly to you.  No more waiting for my orders to close and then to ship!!

Quick and Easy Card

Hi all, 100_9381                   This week I made a slew of these cards for my kids to use as thank you notes for their graduation gifts… The best thing about this card is that it is a great way to use up left over pieces of designer paper!!  I used the Oh Hello set (c 130733) and oval collection framelits (129381)  with basic Whisper White card stock (100730).  I cut the oval with the framelits and my new Magnetic Platform on my Big Shot!! I have to say that the Magnetic platform (130658) is my favorite new toy!!  The framelits DO NOT move!! I stamped the arrow from the Oh Hello set in Bermuda Bay and then the Thanks so Much in Island Indigo over the arrow.  I sponged the side of the oval with the bermuda bay to add a little depth to the oval.  Then I layered the oval onto the card with dimensionals! Everyone’s favorite tool – you should all have dimensionals in your stash!!   And an update on my family!  Graduations are over and tennis season is over as well!  John starts his new job on Monday with Dresser-Rand as a project engineer.  So we have been busy packing up things and getting ready to have movers take the furniture that he wants to Colorado.  A great way for me to clean out some our old things!! Tennis season ended on a very positive note for Emily!  She hurt her knee this year and couldn’t finish the season playing singles which is her favorite position.  But she and her doubles partner won the only game in their final match at the State tournament!!  So a great way to end the year!  And she received the sportsmanship award for all of the work that she did for the team when she was benched due to her injury! That’s about it for now!  I am looking forward to spending some time playing with my new stamps and designer papers!   signature line-red

Modern Medley Card

My box of new toys came today!  My first order from the new catalog. I used the Friendship Preserves Stamp set with the Modern Medley Designer paper.  This Designer paper is black and vanilla. I stamped the Hello from Friendship preserves in white ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I do wish that we still had satin ribbon.  This card needs a more formal ribbons so I used a piece of the black satin ribbon which I think really adds a nice detail to this card!   100_9368To achieve the “Framed” look, I cut the vanilla background layer a little smaller than the typical second layer on a card.  The vanilla is 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.   The inside black layer is 3 3/8″ x  4 5/8″ so a 1/2″ layer.   I think this paper is very elegant!   Enjoy!   Marilyn

Need a Wedding Card?

Here is another card from my girls weekend on the Cape.  My upline Lynn Theiret made this card.  What a great card for a wedding or another formal occasion! 100_9172 copythe card base is Basic Black.  The white strip embossed with the lattice embossing folder and using the scallop edge border punch to scallop each side. The buttons are 1/4″ circles punched from black card stock.  Add a pearl colored with black sharpie to the center to get the button look. The bow tie is actually made from cardstock. Vintage Thank you card

Sunday was my downline meeting and we all had a great time getting together and catching up. Of course we discussed a little business too… Our bi-annual retreat to Cape Cod is coming up!!  We have a great time getting together for 2 days on Cape Cod, sharing ideas and stamping.  I have a really creative group!  Interested in And of course we all shared cards and classes that we have been working on. Michele Lacerda, who has been in my group the longest brought this card.  Happy 10th Anniversary Michele! I love the vintage look of the card. I am thinking that she used 2 stamps sets for the background with Just Because stamped in Soft Suede for the image.  I love the roses that are in the spring mini catalog.  They really brighten up a card! 100_9085   This is a close up of the roses.  Michele used a piece of victorian lace and the leaves from the Bird punch under the roses.100_9085_edited-2 100_9085_edited-1Then of course she used the oval punch and scalloped oval and added a couple of rhinestone pearls to spice up the message…   I love it!!  Marilyn SanClemente
