Check out this video that I made for designing these 2 scrapbook pages using stamps to embellish your pages.

VIDEO

These scrapbook pages are made using the same layout but different designer papers and colors.  The top page uses the Painted Petals Stamp set with the Painted Blooms Designer paper from the Occasions catalog.  This page uses a background of Rich Razzleberry Card Stock.

The second page is made using the “I Like You” Stampin’ Up! Stamp set and the Something Borrowed DSP.

These pages were designed for my Stamper’s Club.  My local Stamper’s Club requested a month where we make scrapbook pages instead of card projects…  So I made these two pages which are perfect for a wedding, prom or special event!

So how does Stamper’s Club work?  For a purchase of $35 a month, you receive lifetime access to full color instructions to make the current month’s projects.  If this involves a technique, there is a video included showing how to do the technique.  Check out more information on my Stamper’s Club HERE.

So which Page do you like best?

Fall Scrapbook Page

Today I have a Fall Scrapbook page to share with you that I designed to share with my NH Stamper’s Club.  I had a great time today scrapping with my New Hampshire Stamper’s Club.  Each month I meet with my Stamper’s Club and we cover a technique and make a few cards or scrapbook pages. You don’t have to be local to me. Want a FREE Tutorial each month with paper crafting project designs? Then join my Stamper’s Club. Check out the details HERE. fall scrapbook page3w  The challenge for this Week’s SUO Challenge is to design a project using Fall Theme colors which is exactly what I was doing for my Stamper’s Club meeting.  This is a scrapbook page that I designed to use as inspiration for the Stamper’s Club group.  This scrapbook page starts with a 12×12 piece of very vanilla cardstock.  fall scrapbook cu3 The Gorgeous Grunge stamp set was used to make a background on the page.  The background dots are stamped with Crushed Curry and Soft suede inks. The page is created around the Flashback Designer paper which uses the Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Real Red, and Garden Green cardstocks.  For a touch of Pop I added a piece of Perfect Plum cardstock.  There is something about purple leaves that always grab my attention! fall scrapbook pagecu4One of the best things about stamps is that they can be used to create embellishments for scrapbook pages! For this page, I choose the Truly Grateful stamp set from the catalog.  The Crushed Curry and Real Red mats have been stamped with the wood grain stamp using Soft Sscrapbook pagecu5uede ink. The page is embellished with acorns and the tree trunk stamped with soft suede ink on very vanilla cardstock from the Truly Grateful stamp set.  These are cut out and added as enhancements on the page.  The leaves are cut from scraps of cardstock using the Fun Fest Framelits.  The larger leaves on the page were cut using the Autumn Accents Bigz die.  The wood grain stamp from the Truly Grateful stamp set was used to add veins to the leaves.   I also used linen thread made into loops and washi tape to embellish a few of the layers on the page. Love the Acorns?  What a great page embellishment!  These are made using the Autumn Accents die with chocolate chip cardstock to cut the Acorns.  I then layered a small piece of Gold Glimmer paper to the top of the acorn and ran that thru the die again to make the “cap” of the acorn. For my Stamper’s Club meeting, each member of the Stamper’s Club designed their own variation of this page usinfall scarpbook page2wg these same supplies; the Flashback Designer paper and embellishments.  They choose backgrounds from the 12×12 Neutrals cardstock pack. Here is a 2 page layout that was designed by this month’s hostess, Fran fall scrapbook cu2Heaton.   Fran’s pages use 12 x 12 pieces of Smokey Slate cardstock.  Fran used the Autumn Accents die with Chocolate chip cardstock and a piece of Gold Glimmer paper to make these cute acorns as an acfall scrapbook cucent on her page. Fran layered these acorns onto a piece of burlap.  I also like the way Fran layered two pieces of coordinating designs of Designer paper to make a couple of the mats.  The Black diagonal stripped piece is a piece of designer paper from the Typeset Designer paper set which has been layered on a piece of the Flashback designer paper.   I love working with my customers! Even after 15 years as a scrapper, I am always learning something new.  I never thought of layering two piece of Designer papers together to make a contrasting mat!  What a great look! Products used in these scrapbook pages:
  • Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set
  • Truly Grateful Stamp set
  • 12×12 Neutrals Cardstock
  • Flashback Designer Paper
  • Typeset Designer Paper
  • Real Red cardstock
  • Garden Green cardstock

Saying Goodbye to Medallion

Happy May!!  One of my Stamper’s Groups had asked for a Vintage class with a scrapbook page and a couple of vintage cards.  I cased a couple of vintage ideas from Pinterest and of course changed them up a little for the stamp sets that I have. So saying goodbye to the Medallion stamp and Midnight Muse in-color.   I will miss this stamp set and the midnight muse card stock!

Medallion Scrapbook page
Here are the details for this page. The Background is a piece of 12×12 Crumb Cake Card stock.  I distressed the background piece with the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge and Crumb Cake Ink pad..  The Medallion is stamped with White Craft ink onto a piece of Midnight Muse and embossed with white embossing powder.  I used a very vintage designer button on the center of the medallion. The Designer Papers on this page are also retired.  There is a 1 1/2″ strip oDSCN0231cuf the newsprint designer paper on the left hand side of the page.  The journaling box is a piece of Designer paper from the Print Poetry Paper Stack from the Spring catalog last year. The Midnight Muse mat on the top left of the page is stamped with the retired background set – Irish Blessing.  I thought that I had pulled out the retiring set – En Francais – but must have pulled out the Irish Blessing instead.  I added a flower stamped with Flower shop stamp set (not retiring) and added this to the page as an accent. So here is what my one of my Stamper’s Club members, Joyce made using this layout.   Each person made the page layout their own!! vintage scrapbook-e   Joyce made the layout a two page spread using Very Vanilla card stock as the second page.  She took the matching pieces of Designer paper but in Raspberry Ripple,  another retiring in-color.  I like the way Joyce stamped the Flower Shop flowers on Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple scraps and placed on side-by-side pages to tie the two pages together. Interested in joining my Stamper’s Club??  Members of my Stamper’s Club receive full step by step instructions and a technique video for the designated projects each month!  And one month you receive the hostess benefits which is a minimum of $30 in FREE merchandise!  Check out more information here. Stay tuned for one of the vintage cards that I made later this week! Happy Stamping! signature line-003

Scrapbook & Journal Class

Well – if you haven’t heard, I had a little problem with some broken pipes and had to postpone my class on Sunday January 5th to make a Scrapbook or Inspiration Journal.   My Creative Playground is going to be closed for renovation for the next few weeks due to water damage. So I am now offering this class at Sal’s Pizza at 299 Washington St. in Woburn MA on Monday January 20th (Martin Luther King Day) at 1pm. I have two options for this class.  a Scrapbook to scrap all of your Holiday pictures or an Inspiration Journal! 101_0001 This year’s Holiday Scrapbook is an 8×8 scrapbook with 10 divided pages.  That is 20 pages for lots of great pictures to celebrate this Holiday Season or past Holiday seasons…   Here are a few pictures of what I did with this Holiday Scrapbook.  It comes with 35 card stock weight tags that are pre-cut and fit into the slots for labeling pages.  101_0002 101_0003 That makes this project a snap with lots of room for great photos and journalling. I will have extra page protectors available for purchase.  The cost of this class is $30 which includes the scrapbook, one set of 10 page protectors, a set of 35 pre-cut journaling tags and a partial package of the Season of Style designer paper to finish the book. For those of you that aren’t interested in a Holiday scrapbook, I will have Inspiration Journalsavailable for you to work on.  A few weeks ago I hosted a class to make these journals using the This & That journal from the current Idea Book.  This class was a huge success and 5 people completed journals that were all very different and personalized to their needs! 100_9819_e1This journal is great to use for documenting things that inspire you or to document things about yourself that others may not know.  One lady prepared this journal as a gift for her son and his fiancé for them to document the process of planning their wedding.  It was beautiful and I am sure will mean so much to the engaged couple! The class includes the journal, stickers, ribbon and designer paper to decorate this beautiful journal.  The cost of this class is $30. Let me know the theme of your journal and I can pre-print page headers.  I have page headers for a Journal called the Book of Me.  Many women are the picture takers in their family.  But do family members really know the Mom and what her likes, dislikes, etc. are?? Why not make a book that tells your family members about yourself? Or use the Journal for a Bucket List Book!  There are so many different ideas for these journals!! You can register here:

Scrapbook Page

I recently had a request for a scrapbook lesson.  I love scrapbooking but don’t have enough time to do my own things..  So I used this opportunity to make a page using my daughter’s Sr. pictures from last year. The request was for a vintage scrapbook page.  So this is what I designed: 100_9874e I love this page and the way it came out.  So to start a vintage page, I looked at the current Stampin’ Up! designer papers and realized that we have several patterns that have a vintage feel to them! This is the Etcetera Designer Paper on a piece of 12×12 Very Vanilla card stock.   I used the Very Vintage wheel on the vanilla background with pear pizazz ink to give the vintage look to the vanilla background paper.  I selected 3 of the patterns from this designer package.  One of the things that I love about Stampin’ Up! paper is 100_9872e that all the colors coordinate with the cardstock colors.  So no searching for matching pieces.  I used Pear Pizazz cardstock and Pool Party to mat my pictures.  These are two of the colors that are in the Etcetera designer paper.   I stamped the flowers with the Flower Shop stamp set and punched them out with the coordinating Pansy punch. 100_9873eI used the Papillion Potpourri stamp set with the coordinating punch to make the butterflies. The center of the flowers are embellished with the pearl jewels.   The buttons are the Very Vintage buttons with linen thread through the holes.    The decorative trim along the top and bottom were cut using the Tasteful Trim Big Shot die.  Pearl jewels were added to each of these strips for embellishment. What is your favorite thing on this scrapbook page?   signature line-003
