Handmade Card – Shaving Cream Technique

Here is another handmade card where I used the shaving cream technique to make the background.  I  will show you the original card as designed by my friend.  Then I substituted the shaving cream background in place of the designer paper.

Here are the details:

1.  You will need a can of shaving cream and 2-3 re-inkers.

2.  This card uses the Summer Starfruit, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral re-inkers.

3.  Spread some shaving cream in a cookie sheet or pan with shallow sides.

4.  Drop 4-5 drops of each color re-inker on the shaving cream.

5.  Use a toothpick and swirl the colors through the shaving cream.  You don’t want to swirl too much as the colors will all mix together and get very muddy.

6.  Place your Card Stock on top of the shaving cream and gently push down.  Pull up and scrape off the shaving cream with a spatula.  Blot with a paper towel and set aside to dry.  NOTE:  I cut the card stock into quarter sheets for this technique.

The candles are stamped using summer starfruit, gumball green, raspberry ripple, coastal cabana and blueing bride.  Two of the candles were stamped and cut out and raised with dimensionals.

Thanks for checking out my cards!
