These past few weeks, I have been busy working on a handmade shower invitation using the hydrangea from the Because I Care and Best of Flowers Stamp set. I love working on happy events such as wedding or showers. It is such a happy time and it is fun to be given parameters to work with.
For this project, I was working with the Mother of the Bride and the Maid of Honor on the design.
They mentioned that the Bride likes Hydrangeas and that hydrangeas would be one of the flowers in her wedding bouquet. And they were looking for something in pastel colors with pinks and purples. So I used Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder as my colors.
They were also looking for a wrap and liked the shimmery papers. So this is the final design that we came up with.
The invitation is a standard 5×7″ invitation. The card base is Wisteria wonder card stock with a layer of Whisper white card stock that I cut and ran through my printer for the actual printing of the invitation. The smaller hydrangeas from the Best of Flowers stamp set are stamped along the top and the larger hydrangea from the Because I care stamp set is stamped on the bottom of the invitation.
The wrap is made from a White Shimmery text weight paper from LCI Paper. The edge of the wrap is made with the Scalloped Edge border punch. The belly band for the wrap is made from a 1″ piece of shimmer paper with a bow made from the white organza ribbon.
And what is an invitation without a little bling? I added pearl jewels randomly to enhance the centers of the hydrangeas and also along the edge of the belly band.
