Today’s handmade Halloween card is made using one of the Stampin’ Up! photopolymer Stamp sets; Bite Me.
I love the spider web in this set. It is perfect to make Halloween cards or favors for your favorite friends.
This card uses the Motley Monsters designer paper from the Holiday catalog, Crushed Curry cardstock, Tangerine Tango cardsock and whisper white. Cut the Crushed Curry cardstock in half at 5 1/2″ so that you have a piece of cardstock that is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half to make the card base.
The spider web is stamped on a 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of the DSP with the wood grain background layered over the paper with the leaf background (3 3/4″ x 5″) and candy corn backgrounds (2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″).
The black cat is stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock with rhinestone jewels colored yellow for the eyes.
So I have to admit that I really didn’t like the way this first card came out and this has been bugging me all day since I am a perfectionist! The lighting on the picture wasn’t good but most of all, I choose too many prints for the layers of the card and I think they conflicted a bit.
So I remade this card today and I took the picture of the card outside so I had adequate lighting.
I used the same cardstocks, stamp set and designer papers. I just took out the wood grain paper and used a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock in place of the woodgrain paper.
So here is my second version of this card:
I also stamped the BOO on a scrap of crushed curry and added that to the top corner with a dimensional to add depth. I do wish that we had rhinestone jewels that are one size smaller for the eyes!
So what do you think?
