Handmade Holiday cards

Holiday Home Christmas CardThose of you that follow know that my favorite Designer paper for this year as been the All is Calm Designer paper which looks especially great with the Holiday Home stamp set.  For the past couple of days, I have been scrambling to make my personal Christmas cards for this year.  We usually send out about 80 cards and I can’t make just one design.   How can I pick just one design when there are so many that I absolutely love!

So this is one of my designs for this year!  So over the next few days I will post pictures of the cards that I have made for this year!

This card was designed for my Stamping New England design team.  I love our design team.  We are five Demonstrators that work together each month to design a set of projects around a specific stamp set, theme or designer paper.  My favorite thing about being part of this design team is we each have our own style – so at the end of each month we each have 15 great project ideas to draw from for our workshops, classes and stamp clubs!

Onto the details of the card:
Cardstocks:  Soft Sky cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ for the card base
Whisper white cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ and layered onto the soft sky
All is Calm Designer paper cut to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ and layered onto the white cardstock.
Cut a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to 3/8″ x 4 1/2″
Stamp Set:  Holiday Home
Inks:  Coastal Cabanna, Old Olive, Black Momento ink
The house is colored with the Gray, Coastal Cabanna, Cherry cobbler and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers
Accessories:
  Paper Doily, Frosted Sequins

The house is stamped with a black Momento ink pad on whisper white cardstock and colored with Blendabiltiies markers.  I do love the shading and effects that you get with the Blendabilties!  The house is cutout using the coordinating framelits.  So make sure that you order the bundle!  The trees are stamped with Old Olive ink and cut out.  Santa in his sleigh is stamped in the upper right corner with Coastal Cabanna ink.

The card is made by cutting a paper doily in half and layering it on the designer paper.  Then layer on the piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  The house and trees are attached using dimensionals to add depth to the card.  Last but not least, I added some of the Frosted Sequins to the card.  I love the combination of the snowflakes and sequins together.

This afternoon I received an email about the new SUO Challange.  Since I have been cranking out this card today, I decided that I would use this card for this week’s challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!
