Today I decided that I wanted to use the new Sale-a-bration designer paper, Best Year Ever with the coordinating embellishments to make a couple of projects and this handmade Birthday Card. This week’s SUO Challenge is a project with Dots so I designed this card around the dots in the Best Day Ever stamp set and the Best Year Ever designer paper and embellishments.
The Details on this card:
The colors are Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey and Strawberry Slush. The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of coastal cabana scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half for the card base.
The whisper white layer (5 1/4″ x 4″) is stamped with the dots stamp in the Best Day Ever Sale-a-bration set using Coastal Cabana ink.
The medallion is made with 4 layers of circles. The center is stamped with coastal cabana ink and punched out with the 1 3/4″ circle punch. I stamped the image again with strawberry slush ink and cut out the “made” to make a little banner to add over the coastal cabana “made” to add a pop of color. This is layered onto a scallop circle punched from strawberry slush cardstock using the 2 3/8″ scallop circle punch. The next two circles were cut using the Circle Framlits from Hello Honey and Coastal Cabana cardstocks.
The banners for the medallion are made by cutting 3 pieces of the pattern designer paper to 1 1/2″ x 4″. The ends are trimmed to make a banner shape. These are layered together in a fan pattern. I added 3 1/2″ pieces of the coordinating ribbon from the Best Year Ever Embellishments on top of the banners. The medallion was added to the top.
Last but not least, I added a piece of the designer paper to the outside flap of the envelope.
Stay tuned for a couple of other projects made with these same products!
