Handmade Valentine’s Cards

Today I am sharing Hello Life Valentine one of the cards that I designed for our January Valentine’s Theme for the Stamping New England design team.  This is a shaker card that is made with the Hello Life stamp set from the Occasions catalog.  It uses Going gray, Melon Mambo and Pink pirouette cardstocks with the Stacked with Love Designer paper.

The stamped heart, the “love” sentitment and “the little things” sentiment are from the Hello Life Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  The pink pirouette heart that the stamped heart is mounted on, is punched using the Sweetheart Punch.  The card is embellished with glittering hearts that were punched from Glitter Paper with the Confetti Heart Border punch.

So one of the things that I love about working with my Stamper’s club members is the variety and interpretation of ideas that my SC members design.  We are all using the same set of products:  Going gray, Pink pirouette, Melon mambo, Real Red and Black cardstocks with melon mambo ink, but our projects all came out very different and uniquely our own!  One of the things that I love about STampin’ Up!’s Designer paper is that all the colors that coordinate with that paper are listed on the package!

So for a rundown of the night.  I precut the cardstocks to card base size (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″)  and card front size (5 1/4″ x 4″).  Then everyone chooses a piece of the Stacked with love DSP for their front layer and cuts that to 5″ x 3 3/4″.  Based on the piece of DSP that they chose, they can select the colors that they want for the card base and second layer that highlights the designer paper.  As you can see several different patterns were chosen.

Here are closeups of a couple of the cards.

This card uses the small dots pattern that is in the Stacked with Love DSP stack.  I had two stacks of the designer paper with me, but there are only 4 sheets of each pattern in each stack.

Card 2  uses the DSP with the small red hearts,  so this person used a Real red layer of cardstock with a gray base.

This 3rd card uses the pink diagonal stripped piece of DSP with a layer of Melon mambo and a white card base.  This lady used DSP to punch the hearts as well!

So 7 very different cards all made with the same layout, technique and supplies!
