Mother’s Day Card

Today I have a card that was made for the Stamping New England Design Team for our Mother’s Day theme.  Mother’s Day also happens to be the theme of the SUO Challenge for this week so I thought this card is perfect to share today.

I love this card and Designer paper!  This Mother’s Day card is made with the Painted Petals Stamp set and Painted Blooms Designer Series paper with accents in Rose Red cardstock.

There are a couple of elements that I think set this card apart.  One is that the Designer paper on the front of the card is lined up with the DSP on the bottom layer so the paper has the effect of a 2 part card.  To make this effect you want to cut a piece of DSP at 5 1/4″ x

The second element that I really like about this card is the unique fold.  The bottom layer of Blushing Bride cardstock and layer of DSP make up the card base, so the center layer has the fold for the inside of the card.

Also included with this card is a tab on the inside of the fold that holds a gift card.  Perfect for a Mother’s Day gift certificate!

Here are the details on the card front.  The phrase “You are Amazingly Amazing” is stamped with Rose Red ink on whisper white cardstock.  It is punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and very lightly stamped with the roses from the Painted Petals Stamp set and Blushing Bride ink on the background.  The layer for the label is made by punching a scrap of Rose Red cardstock with the Decorative Label punch.  Cut the label in half and layer underneath the white label.  This is a great way to layer labels when you only one size punch!
