Handmade Christmas Card

Today I am sharing a handmade Christmas card that I made using the new Lots of Joy Stamp set with the Merry Moments Designer Paper from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog.

This card is inspired by this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge.  I have been working on my Stamping New England cards for July which are for the theme of Christmas in July using the Lots of Joy stamp set and Merry Moments Designer paper.

So what is Stamping New England?  We are a group of 5 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators with over 40 years of paper crafting experience.  Each month we make 3 projects using the same Designer paper and stamp set(s) and combine our ideas into sets of projects that we offer to our customers….  I use these projects to develop my Stamper’s Club class each month.  Usually this includes a technique and a set of instructions for 4 or 5 projects.  The technique is highlighted in a technique video.  Interested in receiving a FREE technique video complete with project ideas each month?  Look at joining my Stamper’s club.

So here are the Details for this card. 

Cardstocks:
The card base is Crumb Cake which has been embossed with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder.  I tried something a little different and embossed the card front twice, reversing the stripe to make a crosshatch pattern.  However, the crosshatch pattern is very faint since the second embossing flattens out the first round of embossing.

The DSP is Merry Moments from the new catalog which is layered on Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler.  The DSP pieces are 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ each.  Next is a circle cuts with the circle framelits from the Silver Foil Cardstock.   The Christmas tree is stamped from the Lots of Joy stamp set using Old Olive ink and punched it out with the Tree punch.

And for bling – you always have to have a little bling!  I added a strip of Red Glimmer paper under the silver circle.  I also added random Rhinestone brads around the tree on the silver circle.
