Hang Your Stocking Christmas Card

Today I am sharing one of the cards that I made for the OctoHang Your Stocking Cardber Stamping New England Design Team projects using the new Hang Your Stocking stamp set from Stampin’ Up!.

The card base is a piece of Garden Green cardstock cut to  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.  Next is a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″.  Next is a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″  and embossed with the Cable Knit embossing folder

NOTE:  This folder is much thicker that other embossing folders which really adds to the detail of the embossed image.  The best way to bring out the detail of the embossed image is to spritz your cardstock with a little water before embossing it.  Also – due to the thickness of the folder, you only want to use one plate.

The stocking is layered onto a piece of the Warmth & Cheer DSP that is layered on a piece of Real Red cardstock.  The detail of the stocking die is beautiful.  The stocking for this card is cut from a piece of Warmth & Cheer DSP with a detail stocking cut from Real Red over the top.  The stocking is decorated with a piece of Holly that is stamped with Garden Green ink and embellished with Berries that are stamped with Real Red ink and then embossed with the Real Red Glitter Embossing powder.
