Today I am posting a Sneak Peak of a Z Fold Card that I made with the new Sale-a-bration stamp set Avant Garden for a swap. Swaps are part of a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator’s life when a new catalog is coming out. Since we can’t buy everything (even though we want to), as a Demonstrator we can purchase sets a month early to make samples and prep for classes. And we do want samples of stamp sets that we don’t own to show our customers and to use for our displays. So we all participate in swaps. Each Demonstrator designs 1 project and then makes multiple copies of the project to trade with other demonstrators. I just received some cool cards yesterday from a swap with the new sets that are coming out on Wednesday January 4th with the new Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration!
So this is one of the cards that I designed using the Avant Garden stamp set which is the new floral set in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration catalog. I also made this card in two different color schemes. The first color scheme is Island Indigo with Mint Macaroon and the second is Rich Razzleberry with Sweet Sugarplum. The Designer series paper is Blooms & Bliss from the catalog.
Z Fold Card Directions:
Card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 2 1/8″ &
4 1/4″ and fold the card in a Z format!
Front Background layer: a 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper.
The Inside of the card is a coordinating color (mint macaroon or Sweet sugarplum) cut to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ with a piece of Blooms & Bliss Designer Series paper cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″.
The main element on the front of the card is the flower from the Avant Garden Stamp set stamped with Island Indigo Ink or Sweet Sugarplum & Rich Razzleberry stamped on a 2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. The background behind the flower is stamped lightly with Mint Macaroon or Blushing Bride ink stamped off – so the image is very light. The flower is layered onto a piece of darker cardstock cut to 2 1/8″ x 3 5/8″. This is layered onto a piece of the lighter cardstock cut to
2 3/8″ x 3 7/8″
The message “Thanks for being you.” is stamped on the front of the card. The flower petals are enhanced with the Clear Wink of Stella brush that adds a little glitter to the image. And of course Rhinestone jewels were added along the bottom of the piece. I used a larger jewel in the center to add a little dimension.
