Need some Cool Treats to Cool off?

Today I am sharing a card made with the Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats Stamp Set and using the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series paper.  Who doesn’t love an ice cream sundae on a hot August day!

Just as a side note – I am currently posting from Edmonton Alberta in Canada where i am visiting my son.  He started a two year project in Edmonton and moved up here in March.  Edmonton is beautiful and has a very diverse culture.  We tried Korean bingsu last night which means shaved milk.  It is their version of ice cream.  It was delicious!

Ok – back to card making – I love the Cool Treats Stamp set.  and don’t forget the matching framelits! These amazing dies make it so easy to cut out all of your cool treats to make the perfect handmade Birthday card!  The dies for the ice cream cone have some detail to them so they cut and emboss at the same time!

So here are the details of this Cool Treats card:
The card base is a piece of Pool Party cardstock cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″.
The second layer is a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Pool party Designer paper from the Naturally Eclectic package.
Third is a layer of Whisper White cardstock cut to 3″ x 5 1/4″.  This layer has Washi Tape from the Basics pack layered on the bottom.

The Ice Cream scoops are stamped using Stampin’ Up!’s Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach classic inks and then cut out using the framelits.  The bowl is cut from a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock.  I cut 3 layers of chocolate using scraps of Chocolate Chip cardstock and a cherry from a scrap of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. These are layered onto each of the ice cream scoops.  Last I used a scrap of So Saffron and cut a circle using the larger of the Stitched Framelit Circles.   The So Saffron circle is layered onto one of our Lace Doilies.  Then I built the ice cream sundae by attaching the bowl to the doily and then using dimensionals to attach each ice cream scoop to the bowl.

The last step was to stamp the message.  I used a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker to color in the words “you are” and stamped this on the top of the white piece of cardstock. Make sure to clean the stamp well to get the residual ink off of the “you are”.  Then I used a Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write markers to color the “cherry to my Sundae” on a 2″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Vellum cardstock.

Attach all the layers and you have a great Summer Cool Treats Card!

Here are the supplies that I used for this card:
