Today I am sharing one of the handmade Christmas card that I made using the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper and the Merry Little Labels Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! for a swap in Salt Lake City at OnStage. This handmade Christmas card is a center step fold card.
I love the elegant look of this Black and White Card for Christmas. This is most definitely a step out of the box for me with a handmade Christmas Card!
Here are the details of this card!
Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″.
See below for a diagram for cutting the sides and the steps on the card.
Warning – I had to cut this pattern a couple of times to get it right. Then I would mark a piece and keep it as a pattern for the future!
1. Score the cardstock at 4 1/2″ and at 10″.
2. At the 9″ mark – score in on each side 1″. To do this you will want to use the clear ruler that is on the top of your paper cutter. Score into 1″ and then raise the ruler and move the scoring blade to the 3 1/4″ mark on the top ruler. Score to the other edge.
3. Next at the 5 1/2″ mark, raise the ruler and move your scoring blade in to the 1″ mark on the top clear ruler and score to the 3 1/4″ mark.
4. Next Turn your cardstock and line up the side at the 1″ mark. Raise the clear ruler and cut in 1″ from the edge of the score line at the 4 1/2″ mark to the edge of the score line at the 10″ mark. Flip the cardstock and repeat on the other side.
Fold along the score lines. You finished piece will look like this:
Now the fun part! Time to decorate!
The two Side panels are 1″ x 4 1/2″. So I cut a layer of Basic Black cardstock to 7/8″ x 4 3/8″ and a piece of the the Merry Little Christmas DSP to 3/4″ x 4 1/4″.
The Center panel is 2 1/4″ x 4 1/2″. The Basic Black layer is 2 1/8″ x 4 3/8″ and the DSP is 2″ x 4 1/4″. The front is 1″ x 4 1/4″. The Basic Black layer is 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ with a 4″ x 3/4″ layer of Whisper White and a 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Black DSP.
The “Let it Snow” is stamped with the Merry Little Labels stamp set. I used Basic Black Archival ink on Whisper White cardstock. This is layered onto a label cut using the punch on a piece of Basic Black Cardstock. This label is layered on a piece of the Silver Glimmer paper cut from a medium die using the Lots of Label Framelits.
Last I cut the trees from Silver Glimmer paper using the Card Front Builder dies. The deer is cut from a scrap of soft suede cardstock.
That’s it! A stunning WOW handmade Christmas Card. Here are the products that were used to make this card:
