Variations on a Theme

Variation on a themeToday I am sharing a card that one of my downline’s, Margaret made.  She is one of the very talented designers on my team!  I have a great team!

Margaret designed the original silver card with the Pool Party Cardstock, Bermuda Bay layer and the silver snowflakes and silver Foil.

I love this card and the way that she used half of a silver foil snowflake below the embossed snowflake.  Since the Foil Snowflakes from the Year of Cheer suite come in Silver and Gold, I wanted to try this card with the Gold Foil and the Gold Snowflake.
I found 2 color combinations that I liked with the gold.  The first is a Powder Pink cardstock base with a layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The second is a Sweet Sugarplum cardstock base with a Cherry Cobbler cardstock layer.

Here are the details on this card.  The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock scored at 4 1/4″ and folded in half to form the card base.  The second layer is 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of coordinating color of cardstock.  Next is a 4″ x 2 1/2″ piece of the Merry Music Designer Series Paper from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. Next is a 4″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Silver Foil that is embossed with the Winter Wonder textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  A Foil Snowflake is cut in half and matched up with the embossed snowflake.  Then I used a piece of Pool Party ribbon for the Silver card and a piece of the Gold Metallic edged ribbon for the Gold versions.

The Message is stamped from the Snowflake Sentiment stamp set and cut with the stitched Circles framelits.  I cut two swirls from the Swirly Snowflake Thinlits dies in silver and gold.

That’s it!  A striking card that is now too difficult.

So which color combination do you like best?

Happy Stamping!
