Varied Vases handmade card and FREE tutorial

Today I am sharing a beautiful card that I made with the Varied Vases stamp set and coordinating punch.  This is a handmade varied vases cardgreat bundle to make some cute quick cards.  I used the Garden Impressions Designer paper with this set.

One of my favorite color combinations is navy and yellow so I was naturally drawn to this piece of designer paper.

So the details on this card.

Card Base:  cut a piece of So Saffron cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4.
First layer:  So saffron piece of Garden Impressions DSP cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″
Second layer:  Blue and saffron floral background cut to 3″ x 4″.

The Focal point of this card is the floral images stamped on a piece of 2 1/4″ x 3″ piece of whisper white cardstock.  Then I stamped each of the 3 vases with Jet Black staz-on ink.  I added a flower to each vase and colored in the flowers with So Saffron ink.

The vases are punched out of scraps of the Garden Impressions DSP.  I really liked the way this highlighted the vases.  I attached the DSP vases over the stamped vase. Stamping the vase even though I know I am going to cover it up with DSP – helps to position the flowers.    I added the middle vase last and used a dimensional so it looks like it is in front of the other two vases.  This piece is layered onto a 2 3/8″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock.  This piece is centered to the center left of the Decorative DSP layer.  I didn’t want to hide that beautiful navy and saffron DSP.

Last I stamped the message “Birthday Wishes”  on a scrap of whisper white cardstock and punched it out with the Classic label punch.  I used a dimensional to add this piece to the card.
