Using One Sketch – Two very different Cards

Today I am going to share how easy it is to design 2 very different cards using one sketch. Cauldron Bubble Witch card These are two very different cards that are made with products from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog that goes on sale on Wednesday September 5th!

Here is the sketch that I used.  I like going back to the mojo Monday sketches – even though no new sketches are being published there is a great library of sketches to choose from.

This really cute Witch is made using the new Cauldron Bubble Stamp set and coordinating Cauldron Framelits dies.  The designer paper is Toil &  Trouble.  One of the really cool things about this stamp set and the framelits is that the framelits that cut out the stamped image but also the witch, hat and cauldron images from the designer paper!   Here is a closeup of the Witch card with the bow.

Can you tell which images I cut out from Designer paper and which ones I colored with the new Stampin’ Up! Blends markers?

Here is my Country Home Cardsecond card using the Country Home Stamp set and the Country Lane Designer Series Paper.

As you can see I have a 2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of DSP along the bottom of both cards.  For the Country Home card, I did layer the DSP onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock that is the same size and trimmed 1/8″ off the DSP.   The DSP layer at the top right of the card is 2″ x 3″.

The focal point of the card is a approximately 2″ x 3 1/2″.  For the Country Home card, I fussy cut the image and didn’t use a piece of cardstock below it.  The image was large enough that it didn’t need a separate piece.

So which card do you like better??

Don’t forget the new Holiday catalog goes online on Wednesday the 5th!

Happy Stamping!
