Half Full Holiday Card

Today I am sharing a handmade Half Full Holiday card.  This card was a custom request by a customer that likes to feature
Half Full Holiday Card
his dog in his Holiday cards.  He actually saw a card made with the Half Full and the Christmas Pines stamp sets last fall and said that he wanted to design something with his precious dog and the wine set.  He and some friends had made wine and named it after Sofie his precious dog.  I absolutely love the way this card came out!

So the Details on this card.  This card is 5 X 7″ since I had to enlarge the wine bottle and wine glass to be able to read the labels.

The card base is a 10″ x 7″ piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock scored at 5″.  The next layer is a 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ piece of Real Red cardstock.  The next layer is a 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and the last layer is a 4″ x 6″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

The Pine boughs are stamped using Garden Green ink on the background of the Very Vanilla cardstock.  The star background image is stamped with Crumb Cake ink.

Next I stamped the pine cones using Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.  The pine cones were cut out using the coordinating Pretty Pines Thinlits dies.  The wine bottle and wine glass are actually prints of the bottles of wine and wine glasses that Steve had made for his dog.  I had tried to superimpose the image over the stamped image from the Half Full stamp set – but then you could not read the label on the bottle or glass.  So the Half Full stamp set was actually used for inspiration rather than using the actual stamped images.  Last is an image of precious Sofie in her Santa outfit.  What a little cutie!

I actually did use the sentiments from the Half Full stamp set for the front and inside of the card.  I stamped the sentiment “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” on the front of the card and layered this onto a scalloped oval cut from Mossy Meadow cardstock.   The sentiment on the inside is ” but if the white runs out, I’ll drink red” with an additional personal sentiment from Steve and Sofie.

This is one of my favorite custom cards that I have made.   Here is another sample of the card that I made using Crumb Cake cardstock as the card base.  Which one do you like better?

Happy Thanksgiving & On-line Extravaganza

Thankful Country Home card Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you are all enjoying a great day with your friends and families!  I am in Richmond, VA at my sister’s house with my daughter.

Today I wanted to share this beautiful card made with the Stampin’ Up! Country Home stamp set.  I love the messages of Thanks that are part of this set!

My other favorite element on this card is the Tin Tile Embossing folder.  I used a brayer with White Craft ink and brayered the top side of the embossing folder before putting it through the Big Shot. That created that white shadow antiqued look.  I love this very cool effect.  It reminds me  of the tin ceiling that we had in the kitchen of our farmhouse.

The milk jug and flowers are colored using Stampin’ Blends markers.

Tomorrow, Black Friday is the start of  Stampin’ Up!’s On-line extravaganza!

Online Extravaganza will run for six days. Snow is Glistening Card

Here is a neat card that I made this week with the new Stampin’ Up! Snow is Glistening stamp set and the coordinating Snowfall thinlit dies.

One of the great advantages that I love about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is the ability to order the products a month in advance so we can prepare classes and samples! This special offers two separate stamp sets with a set of thinlits that cut out snowflakes of all different sizes.  There is also some neat white velvet paper that I had fun playing with.

Snow is Glistening
I used the white velvet paper that is part of this special to make the snow and to cut out the small deer on the bottom of the card.

Here are the details on this card:

Card base:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of whisper white cardstock scored at 4 1/4″.
The next layer is a piece of Tranquil tide cardstock cut to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″.  Then a piece of Joyous Noel Designer paper with the Tranquil Tide design cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″.

Next I stamped the tree onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Tranquil Tide ink.  To add a little sparkle to my tree, I used Irredescent Ice embossing powder (which is retired) to emboss the tree.    I cut out a small snwoflake from a scrap of Sparkle Glimmer paper for the top of the tree.

I love the new White Velvet paper!  To make the snow on the bottom I cut a small strip of the white velvet paper and used the thinlit die that coordinates with the Winter Woods stamp set to cut the snow border.  The texture of this paper is very nice and perfect for the small deer.  I used the detailed Deer thinlits to cut the small deer from the velvet paper.  I found that you can color this paper with the Blends markers.  I used the Crumb Cake Blends marker to color the deer.

The two trees are cut using the Tree dies from the Winter Woods stamp set.  One is cut from the White Velvet sheet and the second is cut from a scrap of Tranquil Tide cardstock.  I used a chalk marker to add a little white color and dimension to the tranquil tide tree.

I am in love with the Snow is Glistening stamp set.  I can see lots of thank you cards for Holiday gifts with this set.  Also perfect for Winter scrapbook pages!

Ready to place an order?  I would love to be your Demonstrator if you are in the US.  If your order is under $150, use the Host Code
X744RT6Y and I will send you a set of embellishments!  Of course if your order is over $150, then keep the Host benefits for yourself.  I love to share Host benefits with my customers!

I can’t wait to see all the creations with these new products!
