Here is a neat card that I made this week with the new Stampin’ Up! Snow is Glistening stamp set and the coordinating Snowfall thinlit dies.
One of the great advantages that I love about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is the ability to order the products a month in advance so we can prepare classes and samples! This special offers two separate stamp sets with a set of thinlits that cut out snowflakes of all different sizes. There is also some neat white velvet paper that I had fun playing with.
I used the white velvet paper that is part of this special to make the snow and to cut out the small deer on the bottom of the card.
Here are the details on this card:
Card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of whisper white cardstock scored at 4 1/4″.
The next layer is a piece of Tranquil tide cardstock cut to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″. Then a piece of Joyous Noel Designer paper with the Tranquil Tide design cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″.
Next I stamped the tree onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Tranquil Tide ink. To add a little sparkle to my tree, I used Irredescent Ice embossing powder (which is retired) to emboss the tree. I cut out a small snwoflake from a scrap of Sparkle Glimmer paper for the top of the tree.
I love the new White Velvet paper! To make the snow on the bottom I cut a small strip of the white velvet paper and used the thinlit die that coordinates with the Winter Woods stamp set to cut the snow border. The texture of this paper is very nice and perfect for the small deer. I used the detailed Deer thinlits to cut the small deer from the velvet paper. I found that you can color this paper with the Blends markers. I used the Crumb Cake Blends marker to color the deer.
The two trees are cut using the Tree dies from the Winter Woods stamp set. One is cut from the White Velvet sheet and the second is cut from a scrap of Tranquil Tide cardstock. I used a chalk marker to add a little white color and dimension to the tranquil tide tree.
I am in love with the Snow is Glistening stamp set. I can see lots of thank you cards for Holiday gifts with this set. Also perfect for Winter scrapbook pages!
