Climbing Roses Thank you card

Today I am sharing a pair of Climbing Roses card that I made using the Climbing Roses stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog. This is a beautiful stamp set with a matching set of framelits that includes a beautiful trellis pattern!

Here are the details of this card:
Card base:  8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock scored at 4 1/4″.
The next layer is a piece of the  Black Polka Dot or Black Diagonal Stripped paper from the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series paper cut to 4″ x 4 1/2″.

Next I stamped and colored the Climbing Roses onto a 4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Momento Ink since I am coloring the roses with my Stampin’ Blends Alcohol markers.  I used the Mossy Meadow Blends to color the leaves and the Lovely Lipstick Blends to color the Rose Petals.  Afterwards I colored in the Rose petals with a Wink of Stella to add a little shimmer to the roses.

The next step of the card is a little tricky.  I wanted to cut out the edge of the roses on the diagonal to get the effect with the Designer paper.  So to do that you have to manipulate the plates in your Big Shot when you are cutting out the roses.  It is not as hard as it sounds…    Here is a picture of how I lined up my cardstock with the stamped roses in my Big Shot.
When cutting with the Big Shot you have your Magentic Platform and then 2 plates that make up the sandwich to cut.  So if you only want to cut part of an image then you line up your stamped image with the framelit on it and then lineup the top plate to the point that you want to cut.  After you run it through your Big Shot you will have this image.

Then I snipped the edges to cut the bottom piece for my card.

On the top scrap I have stamped the single rose and my message.   So I cut the label shape and the single rose out.  Make use of your scraps!  When you get comfortable with this process you can cut them all out at the same time.  But I would practice cutting the diagonal edge first!

Next I attached a piece of the Black Shimmer ribbon along the bottom below the roses.  I cut a short piece of the Black Shimmer ribbon and threaded that thru the other ribbon on the bottom of the card and tied a knot.
Then layer this piece on the bottom of the card lining up the edge with the edge of the designer paper.  Next I stamped my message “Thank you” on the label that I cut out using the Label framelit that is in the Climbing Roses set.  I attached this to the frontof the card using dimensionals.   Add the single rose on the bottom of the label and I added a 4″ piece of the black sequin trim as a tail under the single rose.

Last I used some Black Rhinestone Jewels (now retired) that I had left over from Halloween a couple of years ago.  I used the rhinestones to add a little more detail to the roses.

Below are the products that are used to make these beautiful cards.  I recorded a Facebook Live on Monday with the details of how to make this card.  You can check it out HERE.
