Another Easel Card with Sailing Home

Today I am sharing another Easel Card with the Sailing Home Stamp set and Sail Away Designer Series paper from Stampin’ Up!.   I love the look of this card.  The color combinations of the Sail Away Designer paper is perfect compliment for a summer sea set.  What a perfect decoration for a friend’s desk!

Sail Away Easel Card
Card Base
The card base is an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ sheet of  Seaside Spray (one of the new in-colors) Cardstock scored at 4 1/4″.    Next place your card base on your cutter and cut up at the 1 1/4″ mark to the score line on each side of the card.  This will make the two side pieces.  Adhere these two pieces to the card base.

Each side of the card is decorated with a 1 1/8″ x 4″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock with a 1″ x 3 7/8″ piece of the Sailing Home Designer paper layered on top.

Next,  Score the 3″ middle piece at 2 1/8″ going across to make the fold for the Easel Card.  Next I cut two pieces of the striped seaside spray designer series paper to 2 7/8″ x 2″.  Attach these to each piece of the fold for the center of the card.

Detail Design
Cut a 2 7/8″ x 4″ piece of the Nautical Designer paper with the compass pattern and attach to the inside center of the card.   Stamp the sentiment using Night of Navy ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock.  The Smooth Sailing dies just happen to include a Stitched Label die that is perfect for making the center piece that holds this card open!  Layer the cutout sentiment onto a piece of Night of Navy cardstock cut to 2 1/4″ x 1 3/8″.  This is layered onto a 2 3/8″ x 1 1/2″ piece of Crumb cake cardstock.  Add to the middle of the center section of the card with a dimensional.

Next I stamped the Lighthouse and two sail boats with Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock using the Sailing Home Stamp set.  I cut these out with the coordinating Smooth Sailing dies.  I also cut a piece of rope from a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Attach these to the Easel portion of the card with dimensionals.   I love this look!

People have asked me, how do you write a note in this type of card.   You can write a note on the inside of the top piece that folds up to make the Easel part of the card.

A few weeks ago, I recorded a FB live video on how to make Easel cards.   Each Monday night I hold a FaceBook Live event at 7pm where I showcase some of the projects that I am working on.    Click here to Like My FaceBook Page.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Here are the supplies that I used to make this card.  Also – feel free to download my Tutorial for easel cards.
