3D Timeless Tulips

Today I am sharing a 3D Timeless Tulips Card made from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Timeless Tulips.  This set and the coordinating punch are a bundle in the current Stampin’ Up! Spring Mini catalog.    The punch from this set can be used to make your Tulips 3D!  What a great spring Bouquet of Tulips to cheer up a Friend!  Here are 2 cards that I made using this set.
3D Timeless TulipsThe card on the left was my first card made with the set so it is a little simpler.  As with any project, once I make it I start thinking of ways to Step-it-up!.   I felt the white on white cardstock was too bland so added Melon Mambo Cardstock as the card base on the second card.  I also added a few more flowers to make a fuller bouquet too!

Here are the directions for these cards:
Card base:  Cut Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″ to form card base.  The card on the left is a Whisper White card base and the 2nd card uses Melon Mambo Cardstock for the base.

Second layer:  Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4″ x 5 1/4″.  Emboss with the Coastal Weave Embossing folder.  Attach to the card base.

I wanted the Flowers on my card to pop out and look like a bouquet.  So I added a 3D Frame that I made by nesting 2 of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and cutting a frame from Whisper White cardstock.  To add a little pop of color behind the flowers, I used a 2″ x 4″ piece of Coastal Cabana DSP from the Brights Designer Series paper stack.

Attach the Coastal Cabana DSP to the center of the card.  Use the Foam Adhesive Dimensional Strips to pop up the frame.  Make sure not to add an adhesive strip to the bottom of the frame so the stems can be layered under the frame.

Now the fun part Stamping and making the Tulips!
Stamp the 3 Tulip images with Melon Mambo ink several times. Each time you stamp a flower, stamp a second time without re-inking the stamp to make a lighter shade of flower.  Stamp each of the tulips several times in with a combination of shades using all three sizes of tulips.

The Leaf stamp that coordinates with the Tulip punch can also be used to make Tulip petals.  So stamp a few of the petals using shades of Melon Mambo ink.  Cut out the tulips and extra petals using the punch.  NOTE:  you will need to cut the smaller tulips with Snips.

Stamp several leaves and the stems with the Granny Apple Green ink pad.  Cut out the leaves and the stems.

Now to assemble your flowers and make your bouquet!  Use a dimensional to add the extra Tulip petal to the large flowers.   Lay out the Tulips along the edge of the Whisper White frame on the card.  Lay the stems down below the Tulips and feed them underneath the bottom of the frame.
When you have the layout looking the way that you want, attach the stems to the background with glue dots.  Attach the Tulips to the edge of the White frame.  Add Leaves and the smaller Tulips to fill in your bouquet. I used dimensionals on the two smaller tulips to make them pop!.

Tie a Bow from the White Flax Ribbon and attach to the center of the Bouquet.  Add a few Glitter Enamel Dots to the side of the card.
