Have you tried making Bridge Cards? For the month of January I demonstrated the Bridge Card technique to my Stamp club members. Each Club Member made a Bridge card with the Heartfelt stamp set for Valentine’s Day and a second with Peaceful Poppies Designer paper. What a fun and cute technique!
Here are the directions for these beautiful Bridge Cards:
Card Base:
Cut Poppy Parade Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 8″. Score at 1 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 5 1/2″, 6 3/4″. Fold each side in and burnish with a bone folder to crease the folds. Your card will look like it has wings!
Designer Paper:
Next cut 4 pieces of Designer Series paper to 1 1/8″ x 4 1/4″. Attach each piece to the four sides. NOTE: While cutting the pieces, line them up on your desk so you can put them on the card in order to maintain the design of the paper. Now onto the Heart of the card with the Center message.
Center of the Card:
Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″. Stamp your message and the row of poppies using Momento Black ink. Color the poppies with a Marker or use an Aqua Painter with ink. Attach to the center section of the card.
Make the Bridge
that holds the sides of the card together by cutting a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 1 1/4″. Cut a piece of Peaceful Poppies DSP to 5 3/8″ x 1 1/8″ to attach to this piece. Add Adhesive to only the ends of the Bridge and attach to the left panel and right panel of the card. Now, Onto Stamping the Poppy!
Stamp a Poppy
with Momento Black ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Fill in the poppy with Poppy Parade ink. Stamp a few leaves with Pear Pizazz ink. Cut out with the coordinating dies from the Painted Labels Dies that are part of the Painted Poppy Bundle.
Attach the Single Poppy to the front of the Bridge on the card. Attach the leaves behind the Poppy.
This card will fold flat and fit into a regular A2 envelope.
This is the same card but using the Heartfelt Designer paper and Heartfelt Stamp set to make the card.
