I am so excited about how this 4 Fold Sunshine Birthday Card came out!
Let me share the Story behind this card.
This past Monday was my Daughter’s 25th Birthday so I wanted to make something really special for her!
I love the Strong and Beautiful stamp set. This set is such a great sentiment set with some very powerful affirmations!
I actually purchased this set last spring when the set was released in the 2019 Occasions catalog. And had planned to use the Strong and Beautiful set to make a Graduation Card for my daughter when she graduated with her Masters Degree last May from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
Well, life got in the way. I had some health issues and spent most of last spring recovering. So I made it to Cleveland for her graduation which happened to be on Mother’s Day but certainly didn’t have the time or stamina to make the fantastic card that I had planned for her.
So with her 25th Birthday coming up, I started to plan out a really special card for her with the Strong and Beautiful stamp set. So I was struggling with which one of the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Designer papers to use, and then I received my June Paper Pumpkin kit and saw the beautiful Sunshine Yellow designs of the cards.
I knew this is what I wanted to use to make her card. So I made the sample designs as I always do, and used the second set of cards to design my 4Fold Sunshine Birthday Card!
Once I had the idea, the card just came together with the cute Sunshine stamp set, the embellishments and patterned card fronts that I used in place of Designer paper!
Making this Card
The Front of the card is made using the Sun Rays from the PP card base in the Paper pumpkin kit. The Sun Embellishments was perfect for the front. The “Sunshine” from the Paper pumpkin stamp set is stamped on one of the labels included in the kit. The “You are” was stamped from the same stamp set and I added the letters for MY from another sentiment set.
The embellishments in the PP kit include the Sun, Pineapples and Lemons – all embossed with Gold elements.
The “Smile” was stamped from the PP stamp set and used a piece of the Tropical Oasis designer paper that coordinated with the set. I also used the flowers from the Tropical Oasis and Tropical Chic stamp sets which fit really well with the theme of the card.
The palm leaves from the Tropical Chic dies were cut from Pear Pizazz and Garden Green cardstock scraps. I used layers of Mango Melody and Poppy Parade cardstocks to coordinate with the designs from the PP kit. All the flowers using Mango Melody ink.
The card is finished with a piece of Crushed Curry Ruched ribbon to tie the card closed. The yellow sequins from the Paper pumpkin kit were perfect to enhance the sentiments of the card.
