The Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony is one of my favorite sets and what better to showcase these beautiful Peony Flowers than Ferns. I used the dies from the Forever Ferns stamp set to make a background for these beautiful flowers. This card looks like it was picked from your garden!
Card Details:
There are several (5) layers of cardstock that really add to the elegance of this card! The Card Base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Rococo Rose Cardstock scored at 4 1/4″ to make the card base.
The second layer is a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. And the third layer is another piece of Rococo Rose Cardstock cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″. The fourth layer is 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ of very vanilla cardstock. Finally the last layer is a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Rococo Rose Designer Series paper.
The Peony is stamped with Rococo Rose Ink on a piece of Very vanilla cardstock. The flower is colored with the Rococo Rose Blends and Granny Apple Green blends for the leaves. Using the Rococo Rose ink to stamp the flower gives it a softer look. Usually when using Blends markers, people use Momento ink. I have found that black ink makes the peony very dark and is a harsh color for flowers.
Card Background
The Ferns in the background behind the Peony are cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock and also vellum. The dies from the Forever Ferns bundle were used.
Around the stem of the Peony, I used a bow made from the Vanilla colored ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim pack. I added a small bow made from the Gold Thread in the Forever Greenery Trim pack to the top of the bow.
