Today I am sharing a Slimline Poinsettia Place Card that I made using the Poinsettia Place Suite of products. I have been seeing these Slimline cards lately and wanted to try one! This is my first Slimline Card! So of course I had to choose my favorite Holiday Stamp set!

One of the things that I love about Stampin’ Up!’s designer paper and dies is they now are making dies that cut out some of the Poinsettias in the Designer paper! So you don’t necessarily need to get your fingers inky stamping poinsettias.
The base of this card is a 9″ x 7″ piece of Very vanilla cardstock scored at 3 1/2″. These cards fit into a Business sized envelope. Next I attached a piece of the Plush Poinsettia Specialty paper.

Have you seen this beautiful Plush Poinsettia Designer paper?? All I can say is WOW!
This is a flocked Vellum paper that is very soft and velvety. ….and you can also use one of the poinsettia dies to cut out a velvet poinsettia!!
Now I am getting off target! Back to this card.
For this card I cut out a couple of Poinsettias from the Poinsettia Place Designer paper but did stamp the little sprigs of berries that are added in to enhance the poinsettias and cut my leaves from scraps of Garden Green Cardstock.

I also stamped a label that I cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies with the “Merry Christmas” with Real red ink. I added a little depth to the label by stamping a couple of pine branches around the “Merry Christmas”.
Next, I used some of the Laser cut Gold Foil embellishments as well. I love these beautiful pieces! These embellishments are part of the were the Forever Ferns Suite of products in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog but work so well with any image! These embellishments should be a staple in any crafter’s supplies!
Ready to see the inside of this card? I wanted to do something a little different so…. Check this out!

For the inside I cut a 3 1/4″ x 8 3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the embossing folder from the Greenery collection that embosses a garden image on the edges of my piece. This is a little tricky and took me a couple of tries to get it to line up correctly!
Then I used a water painter with a little Garden Green ink to carefully highlight the embossed leaves. Next I colored the berries with Real Red ink. I love embossing folders to add texture to my cards!
Finally I inked up the single poinsettia stamp with Real Red ink and stamped along the edge of the card. Also adding a sentiment to the inside of the card. That’s it! My first slimline card!!
