Today I am showing you a Slimline Poinsettia card 2 ways! The first card is one of my favorite Holiday cards from this year. This card is a Fun Fold Slimline Card that is really over the top!! Lots of layers and embellishments!! But I wanted to mass produce this card to send out to several people – so I simplified it to make it easier to mass produce and mail!
I know I am behind the 8 ball here – posting this now. But the post was partially completed and I thought it would be good to show! As I mentioned this card is very over the top!! The Card Base is a 8 1/2″ x 9″ scored at 1 3/4″ & 5 1/2″ which makes 3 sections.
Next there is a panel attached to the narrow front piece which is layered with the pretty stripped designer paper in the Christmas Gleaming series.
Each section of the card has a layer of the Christmas Gleaming Specialty Designer paper including the back of the card. The back section folds into the center on this version.
I used the Ornate Layers Dies to cut the layers under the sentiments. I love the lacy look of these pieces and they make great layers for sentiments!
The back side of the card is a couple of poinsettias that were cut from the Poinsettia Designer paper on another layer of Designer paper.
The Simplified Version
The simplified version starts with a Very Vanilla card base that is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 1 3/4″. I added a panel to the front and still added the 2 poinsettias to the front.
The inside has a smaller panel with a piece cut with the ornate layers dies. Merry Christmas is embossed on a strip of Vellum cardstock and added over the piece.
The inside of the card is a layer of the Christmas Gleaming Designer paper with a couple of poinsettias cut from the Designer paper! A much simpler version that requires only 2 layered poinsettias on the front of the card. So a little easier to make in bulk!! The layered poinsettias are beautiful but do take some time to cut and assemble!
These are the supplies that I used to makes these cards.
Product ListThank you for stopping by and checking out one of my favorite Holiday cards this year!! And yes – these cards are over the top!!
