Today I am sharing a Father’s Day card made using Stampin’ Up!’s Artistic Decorative Masks for the background. I don’t know about you but I can never have enough Masculine cards!
This card is made using the Plaid Mask on a Basic White piece of cardstock. I used a blender brush to add Copper Clay and Wild Wheat Inks in stripes on the front of the card.
NOTE: Using Blender Brushes can take some practice. When using blender brushes I have a dedicated brush for specific colors. So I have a brush that I use for Brown colors and another for Yellow colors. I rinse my brush after using a specific color and dry it with a paper towel. Then set it aside to dry! You definitely don’t want to get Brown ink in your yellow inks!
Here are the details on this card:
Card Base: Cut a piece of Wild Wheat CS to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for card base.
Layer 2: Cut a piece of Copper Clay CS to 5 1/4″ x 4″. Attach to the card base.
Layer 3: This is the plaid layer. Cut a piece of Basic White to 5″ x 3 3/4″. Use the Plaid Mask to make the design on the front. Let dry. Attach to the card base.
Layer 4: Cut a second piece of Basic White. I used the Mask that has 2 shapes for messages to Mask the space for the message. i then used the plaid Mask again over the piece with the 2 spots for messages and colored the piece with Wild Wheat ink. I cut this piece in two. I layered the first piece on a piece of Copper Clay cardstock and attached that to the front of the card.
Inside the Card: I turned the second piece and used that on the inside of the card.
The Sentiments are stamped using the He’s the Man stamp set and dies. There are some pretty dies that cut miniature plaid decorations that I used on the front of the card. And of course I had to use a little bling. Brushed Metallic Dots!
Below is a video that shows how I used the Masks.
