Today I am sharing a card that I made using the Stained Glass Technique with the new Stampin’ Up! So Very Merry Stamp set. Stained Glass is a fun technique that is made by stamping an image on Vellum and then coloring the image with Alcohol markers.
This delicate Angel is perfect for the Stained Class Technique! This card starts with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Lemon Lolly CS scored at 4 1/4″ for the card base. Next is a piece of Bubble Bath CS cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and a piece of Basic White cut to 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″. The Basic White is embossed using the Stars of Night Embossing folder. This folder will be available in September in the upcoming Fall catalog.
Stained Glass Technique
- Stamp an image on a piece of vellum CS. Vellum is translucent and you will probably need to heat emboss the image with embossing powder.
- Turn the image over and color with Blends or an alcohol marker!
- Add a piece of White CS behind your image. I used a circle punch to cut out the vellum circles. So I used the circle punch to also cut out a circle of White Cardstock.
- Glue the image onto the White CS. The key to using vellum is to hide the glue behind the image as glue will show through the vellum.
- Enjoy!
