Gold & Silver Anniversary Cards

anniversary card-wToday I am sharing a silver anniversary card that I made to match the gold Anniversary card I shared a few weeks ago.  I love these cards and have added them to my Etsy store.  These cards are perfect for an anniversary celebration or an invitation to a special party!  The only difference between these two cards is the gold vs. silver vellum that I used for the background!

Here are the details for these Handmade Anniversary Cards:
The card base is made using Whisper White cardstock cut the long way – 4 1/4″ x 11, scored at 5 1/2″ and folding in half to open at the top!  Next is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of Gold Fancy Foil Vellum!  This Vellum just screams Wedding or Anniversary to me!  I think that I will add this card and a Silver version to my Etsy store for Anniversary Parties!

Next I used the new Number of Years Stamp set with coordinating Large Numbers Framelits from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog to stamp the floral bouquet, numbers and the anniversary banner.  These items are all stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock which has been layered onto a piece of Gold Foil.
close up
The Design is stamped with Pear Pizazz ink for the leaves, Rose Red ink for the Roses, Daffodil Delight ink for the daisies and Pool Party ink for the Gladiolas.  The words “HAPPY and ANNIVERSARY” are stamped with Rose red ink.  The Banner is stamped with Gold ink and embossed with Gold Embossing powder around the Anniversary.  I also stamped the numbers “5” & “0” with Gold ink and embossed them with Gold embossing powder on scraps of whisper white cardstock.  Then use the new Large Number Framelits to cut out the numbers and the Anniversary banner.  I love when Stampin’ Up! make a stamp set and framelits that coordinate!  and don’t forget to get your 15% off by ordering these products in a bundle!

Want to make the banner and the numbers pop?  I used dimensionals for the banner and the numbers…  And a little tip for you – save the thin edges of the dimensionals to use for thin items like the numbers.

Another Goodbye to Medallion

Today I am showing you a card that I made with the Medallion stamp set from Stampin’ Up!.  This card was for my monthly Stamper’s Club.  They requested vintage scrapbook pages and cards for April’s class. DSCN0202e So the details on this card: The card base is Crumb Cake card stock.  The first layer on this card is a piece of very vanilla card stock that has been stamped with the Medallion stamp in Primerose Petals which is one of the retiring In-colors.  This layer is then embossed with the Baroque Embossing folder. At the bottom of this layer is a 1 1/2″ strip of newsprint designer paper.  This piece is layered with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock which has been punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch.  This punch is also retiring.  I will definitely miss this punch! The card is finished up with a piece of vanilla seam binding tied into a bow and adhered with a vintage brad.  And of course, you can’t forget the bling on a vintage card – I added a large Pearl Jewel to the center of the Medallion and small Pearl Jewels between the scallops on the border. Like these ideas?  These ideas and other like them, are available to my Stamper’s Club members each month.  Check out more on my Stamper’s Club here. Happy Stamping! signature line-003

Handmade Hydrangea Shower Invites

These past few weeks, I have been busy working on a handmade shower invitation using the hydrangea from the Because I Care and Best of Flowers Stamp set.   I love working on happy events such as wedding or showers.  It is such a happy time and it is fun to be given parameters to work with. For this project, I was working with the Mother of the Bride and the Maid of Honor on the design. DSCN0160wThey mentioned that the Bride likes Hydrangeas and that hydrangeas would be one of the flowers in her wedding bouquet.  And they were looking for something in pastel colors with pinks and purples.  So I used Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder as my colors. DSCN0167w2 They were also looking for a wrap and liked the shimmery papers.  So this is the final design that we came up with. The invitation is a standard 5×7″ invitation.  The card base is Wisteria wonder card stock with a layer of Whisper white card stock that I cut and ran through my printer for the actual printing of the invitation.  The smaller hydrangeas from the Best of Flowers stamp set are stamped along the top and the larger hydrangea from the Because I care stamp set is stamped on the bottom of the invitation. The wrap is made from a White Shimmery text weight paper from LCI Paper.   The edge of the wrap is made with the Scalloped Edge border punch.   The belly band for the wrap is made from a 1″ piece of shimmer paper with a bow made from the white organza ribbon. And what is an invitation without a little bling?  I added pearl jewels randomly to enhance the centers of the hydrangeas and also along the edge of the belly band. Interested in making your own shower or wedding invites?  I make wedding, party and shower invitations in any color scheme, theme and design!  I can help you design them so you can make them or I can make them for you!  Check out my Etsy store for other ideas.   Thanks for checking out my site! signature line-003

Roses for Valentine’s?

These beautiful paper roses would be a great present for Valentine’s Day!  They will certainly last much longer than the real ones. Each year my Stampin’ Family gets together for a Yankee swap of 3D items.  When I was a new demonstrator, this event started out as a DSCN0044_e Christmas party.  However over the years, we have moved it to January since everyone is so busy around Christmas time!  This year – I went with a Valentine’s theme for my 3D item.  I really wanted to try out the new spiral flower die (item# 129379) that is in the Occasions catalog for spring. I love this die.  This will be my next video technique to record.   Making the flowers does take a little practice.  These roses are made with Real Red card stock and a  piece of wire.  You will also need a container and a glue gun. DSCN0045e_cu   So to make the flowers:
  1.  Cut a piece of real red card stock to 4″ x 4″.
  2. Run the die through your Big Shot to cut out the spirals.
  3. Use a bone folder to break down the stiffness of the card stock.  You want the card stock to be more pliable.
  4. Cut a 12″ piece of wire.  With a pair of  pliers, bend over one end of the wire to make a loop on the end.  This becomes the center of the flower.
  5. Wrap the narrow end of the spiral around the loop of the wire and pinch with your fingers.  Begin to wind around while pinching the bottom.  Use a dot of hot glue to hold the bottom together as you are wrapping around.  There is a tab at the larger end of the spiral.  This becomes the bottom of the flower.  I put a dab of hot glue in the center to hold the whole thing together.
DSCN0045e_edited-1 6.  The leaves are made with the large oval punch and a piece of old olive card stock. 7.  The oval is folded in half the long way and then I poked a hole in the center of oval to feed it onto the wire. 8.  I painted the tips of the flowers with Red Dazzling Details to add a little bling to the flowers! The container is a wooden container that I got at the local craft store.   The container was painted white with gesso paint.  I added a decorative layer with Real Red card stock and Fresh Prints designer paper stack. DSCN0045e2The center heart is stamped in silver and embossed with silver embossing powder from the Language of Love set also in the Occasions catalog.  The heart is layered onto a heart cut from red glimmer paper.  All the hearts are cut using the Hearts Framelits set.  The large hearts are layered onto a doily.  I added a couple of pieces of ribbon scraps that I had around. To make the filler for the container:
  1. Cut narrow strips of pool party card stock.
  2. Run through a crimper and add to the container.
Voila!  You have your container of roses! Enjoy! signature line-003

Valentine’s Card

Today’s post is a handmade Valentine’s card that I made with the new Silver Vellum designer paper from DSCN0028e the Occasions catalog.  This card would also be great for a wedding or anniversary as well!   So the details: The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Silver Foil paper.  The vellum with the embossed hearts is cut just a tad smaller than the silver foil. The Heart from the Language of Love stamp set in the Occasions catalog is stamped and embossed with Silver embossing powder.  The heart is cut out using the Heart shaped framelits.  The heart is layered onto a doily with a piece of silver ribbon attached. I used a scrap of the silver foil paper to cut out Love with the Expressions framelits from the Holiday catalog. Like this card?  This card is one of the cards from my Valentine’s class. Christmas Wedding Invitations and Accessories

101_0016e2Yesterday I posted the Christmas wedding invitations that I worked on in December.  So today here are the corresponding accessories! I also made a Seating chart and Table cards  that matched the invitations. The Table cards were made using the same technique as the invitation.  The background is cherry cobbler card stock that has been stamped and embossed with white ink and white embossing powder.  The table information is printed on white shimmer paper and layered on metallic gold.  The table information has a border that is punched using the Valentine’s heart punch with a white velvet ribbon added. 101_0012 The seating chart was made on a 16 x 20″ piece of poster board.  The poster board was stamped with the holly leaf in old olive.  The panels for the seating chart are printed on my printer and then mounted on the metallic gold card stock.   These are layered onto pieces of cherry cobbler card stock that has been stamped and embossed in white. So if you are planning a theme wedding and would like invitations that are custom made – drop me a message!  I can help you design your invitations and you can make them or I can make them for you! You can check out items on my Etsy store here. Happy Stampin signature line-003

Christmas Wedding Invitations

100_9842eI wanted to share the wedding invitations and coordinating items that I made in December for a Christmas Wedding. Over the past 14 years, I have worked on designing wedding invitations for many weddings but have never done a wedding long distance.  So I wasn’t sure how this was going to work!  This bride found me through my Etsy store and lives in North Carolina. 100_9842cue This particular wedding invitation was made with Cherry Cobbler Card stock, Metallic Gold card stock and White Shimmer card stock.  I used the Bells and Boughs stamp set from an older Holiday catalog. The background for the wedding invitation Holly is stamped with white ink and embossed with white embossing powder on Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The actual invitation is printed on white shimmer paper using a red ink that is close in shade to the cherry cobbler.  The invitation is layered onto metallic gold card stock and then on the cherry cobbler background. The top of the invitation is a border punched with the valentines heart punch that Stampin’ Up! sold a few years ago.  Then white velvet ribbon is layered on top of the border. The special effect to these invitations is a holly leaf that I stamped and colored with a blender pen.  The leaf is cut out and pearls colored red with a sharpie have been added for the center holly berries. I will post the table cards and coordinating items tomorrow! signature line-003

Another Field Flowers Card

100_9749eGood Morning! Here is another Field Flowers card that I pulled out of my stash for this set.   I actually made this card a couple of years ago, but wanted to show you another Field Flowers card.  This really is a beautiful set and can be used for a variety of things – weddings, thinking of you, sympathy, mother’s day, birthday, etc. The details on this cards: 1.  The card base is marina mist cut in half at 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ to make the card base. 2.  The background is night of navy cardstock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed with a victorian embossing folder which is no longer available.  If I were making this card today, I would use the beautifully baroque embossing folder. 3.  I added a little dimension to the background of this card by stamping with the En Francais background stamp with marina mist ink stamped off.  I then used the now retired set – Fresh Vintage (a SAB set from two years ago) and very lightly stamped a couple of flower images, stamping off on scrap paper first.  I then very lightly sponged the edges of the white cardstock. 4.  The flower stems are stamped with Always Artichoke ink.  The flowers are stamped with night of navy.  I stamped the background image first on a scrap paper to “stamp Off” and create a lighter image for the background of the stamp.  I then used the detail stamp with night of navy ink over the background image. 5.  This piece is layered onto marina mist card stock.  I scalloped the bottom edge of the card stock using the scallop trim border punch. 6.  Next I stamped the sentiment “with Love” with night of navy ink and punched it out with the oval punch.  This is layered onto a piece of night of navy card stock punched with the oval scallop punch. 7.  Last but not least are the Embellishments.  I used a layer of Victoria Crochet Trim and the pearl jewels to accent the center of the large flower and the scallop on the bottom of the floral layer. I hope you have enjoyed this card sample! signature line-003

Field Flowers with Etcetera Designer paper

Over the next couple of days I am going to share a few cards that I made with Field Flowers stamp set.  Even though this is not a new set – I found myself playing with it yesterday!! cape patio Before we get started with the cards, I thought that I would share a pic of my summer office.  As many of you know, I spend a good bit of my summer in Dennis on Cape Cod.  I know it is a difficult life but someone has to manage the teenage children! Today and yesterday have been perfect days.  The humidity has finally broken and the temps are in the 70’s.  Not too hot, not too cold.  So I have moved my computer outside for today.  It is very pleasant.  I can hear the waves and the kids playing on the beach (also the parking lot, but I am choosing to block that out LOL). 100_9752e   Ok on to some card shares!!  Yesterday I decided to play around with one of my favorite sets Field Flowers.  I saw a card on Ann Schach’s site that I absolutely loved so changed it up a little for what I needed.  Also – I wanted to use one of the new designer papers that I hadn’t opened yet… So I used the Designer paper Etcetera which has the colors Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Pool Party and Very vanilla.  I am really liking the Vintage look to this paper.    One of my customer asked for a Vintage class – I think this might be the designer paper to use!   So the details of these cards: 1.  the Card base is very vanilla with a layer of calypso coral cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. 2.  I liked the look of the old olive and pool party design as a background piece but then couldn’t decide which coordinating piece I liked better for the side. 3.  On the first card – I used a strip of the calypso coral pattern, making sure that I lined up the victorian pattern in the middle of my strip.  I love the look that these two papers together created and the way the seam of the two papers fell with the stripe in the coral paper.  It looks as if the paper is torn! 100_9750e But then I also like the Vintage look of the vintage newspaper piece.  So I tried a 1 1/4″ strip of this piece with the background.  I liked the two together but didn’t like the seam where the two pieces meet.  So I added a piece of trim that I made using the scallop trim border punch. 4.  The flowers and stems are stamped on a 2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of very vanilla card stock layered onto a piece of Old Olive cardstock.  The stems are stamped using old olive ink. 5.  The flowers are stamped on a scrap of very vanilla card stock with calypso coral ink.  This is a two part stamp – so I stamped the background piece first and stamped off on a scrap paper to make the coral a shade lighter.  Then for the detail of the flower, I used the second detail stamp and stamped with calypso coral at full strength. The flowers are stamped on scraps of very vanilla and cut out.  They are raised with dimensionals to pop off the card!  Of course I then had to enhance the flowers with a few pearls.  And my cards are complete! Perfect for a wedding card or Thinking of You card. So which card do you like best??  Leave me a message. Enjoy your day! signature line-003

Black and White Card Swaps

Good Morning, Over the next couple of days I am going to post some of my favorite swaps that I received. I participated in a black and white swap where all cards are made with black and white card stock only. Here is a picture of the card that I made for this swap.  As you know, I love the embossing folders and used   The card below is one that 100_9697my downline Lisa Fuller made for the Black and White swap.  I love the dramatic effect that she created by brayering a little black ink onto the Fancy Fan embossing folder to create the background. This next card was made by Donna Centemore at Butternut Sage Designs.  I love this stamp set as well and the antique look of the set.   100_9710     I also really like this next card.  It was designed by Joszette Elkridge with the Dahlia stamp.  It is hard to see but the Dahlia has a bit of glitter to it!   100_9711and   last but not least is my black and white card.   100_9709 copy               More to come!! signature line-003

Swaps and a Wedding

Well I am continuing to plug away on my swaps and on the wedding that I am working on.  I have to say that since both involve heat embossing, I am very glad that the temperature has dropped a bit.  I do  miss the air conditioning in my Tewksbury Playground!! 100_9467 This is the wedding invitation that I am working on for a customer from Etsy.  It is using the Bells  and Boughs stamp set with the Holly leaf from last year’s catalog.  The holly leaf is stamped and embossed in white on cherry cobbler card stock.  It is layered onto metallic gold card stock.  The invitation itself is printed onto meta 100_9467closeup llic white card stock and layered onto another layer of metallic gold.  I then stamped a holly leaf on a scrap of card stock, colored it with ink and then cut it out.  I colored some pearl jewels red with a sharpie and added those to the center of the holly leaf in place of the berries. I used the retired heart border punch to create a little border along the top of the invite.  I added some of the velvet ribbon that we had in last year’s holiday catalog. 100_9465 The gold leaves are embossed on vellum card stock using gold ink and embossing powder.  These are going on my WOW swap for convention.  The gold leaf is one of the new stamps in the upcoming Fall/Holiday catalog. So this is what my table looks like this afternoon with all of the embossing that I am doing.  Stay tuned for a peak at the WOW card that I am making for one of my convention swaps!!   Thanks for checking things out! signature line-red

Need a Wedding Card?

Here is another card from my girls weekend on the Cape.  My upline Lynn Theiret made this card.  What a great card for a wedding or another formal occasion! 100_9172 copythe card base is Basic Black.  The white strip embossed with the lattice embossing folder and using the scallop edge border punch to scallop each side. The buttons are 1/4″ circles punched from black card stock.  Add a pearl colored with black sharpie to the center to get the button look. The bow tie is actually made from cardstock.
