Perfect Pines Card and Weekly Specials

Today I have a card to share that I made with the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Pines stamp set and matching Perfect Pines thinlits.  I used this card last week as inspiration for my Design your own Card Night.   So here are the details on this card:

The card base is made from Crumb Cake Cardstock with a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.  The designer paper is the Merry Moments Designer paper from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.  The Cherry Cobbler designer paper is layered with a piece of Gold Foil and the plaid designer paper is layered with a piece of Red Foil.  I do love the way that the layers of foil offset the designer paper!

The pine trees are stamped with Always Artichoke ink and cut out with the thinlits.  The trees are layered onto a circle of Very Vanilla Cardstock which is layered onto a circle of Gold Foil.  The message “Tis the Season” is also stamped with Always Artichoke ink and layered onto a scallop punched with the 3/4″ scallop circle punch.  And of course you cannot forget the bling!  I used gold sequins for the tops of the Christmas trees. Here is a list of the supplies used to make this card.

Handmade Holiday cards

Holiday Home Christmas CardThose of you that follow know that my favorite Designer paper for this year as been the All is Calm Designer paper which looks especially great with the Holiday Home stamp set.  For the past couple of days, I have been scrambling to make my personal Christmas cards for this year.  We usually send out about 80 cards and I can’t make just one design.   How can I pick just one design when there are so many that I absolutely love!

So this is one of my designs for this year!  So over the next few days I will post pictures of the cards that I have made for this year!

This card was designed for my Stamping New England design team.  I love our design team.  We are five Demonstrators that work together each month to design a set of projects around a specific stamp set, theme or designer paper.  My favorite thing about being part of this design team is we each have our own style – so at the end of each month we each have 15 great project ideas to draw from for our workshops, classes and stamp clubs!
Onto the details of the card:
Cardstocks:  Soft Sky cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ for the card base
Whisper white cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ and layered onto the soft sky
All is Calm Designer paper cut to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ and layered onto the white cardstock.
Cut a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper to 3/8″ x 4 1/2″
Stamp Set:  Holiday Home
Inks:  Coastal Cabanna, Old Olive, Black Momento ink
The house is colored with the Gray, Coastal Cabanna, Cherry cobbler and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers
  Paper Doily, Frosted Sequins

The house is stamped with a black Momento ink pad on whisper white cardstock and colored with Blendabiltiies markers.  I do love the shading and effects that you get with the Blendabilties!  The house is cutout using the coordinating framelits.  So make sure that you order the bundle!  The trees are stamped with Old Olive ink and cut out.  Santa in his sleigh is stamped in the upper right corner with Coastal Cabanna ink.

The card is made by cutting a paper doily in half and layering it on the designer paper.  Then layer on the piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  The house and trees are attached using dimensionals to add depth to the card.  Last but not least, I added some of the Frosted Sequins to the card.  I love the combination of the snowflakes and sequins together.

This afternoon I received an email about the new SUO Challange.  Since I have been cranking out this card today, I decided that I would use this card for this week’s challenge!

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Christmas Star card

Do you remember the beautiful Bright & Beautiful Stars Christmas card that I made a couple of weeks ago with Blackberry Bliss cardstock and inks and the Bright & Beautiful Stars bundle?? Well I love that card and redid made it with Lost Lagoon. Not sure which one I like better!

Bright & Beautiful
The details on this card:
Stamp set: Bright & Beautiful bundle with matching Framelits
Cardstocks: Whisper White, Lost Lagoon and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, Silver Foil Paper
Embellishments:  Rhinestone Jewels, Dimensionals, Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, Lost Lagoon ribbon, Narrow Silver ribbon
Ink:  Lost Lagoon Classic Ink pad

Bright & BeautifulThe stars are stamped with Lost Lagoon classic ink and cut out using the matching framelits and my Big Shot.
I also cut a medium star from the Dazzling Details Glimmer paper.
The card base is whisper white and has been layered with a piece of lost lagoon cardstock cut to 5 1/4″ x 4″.  The next layer is a piece of silver foil which is cut to 5″ x 3 3/4″ and embossed with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder.

I tied a piece of Lost Lagoon ribbon around these layers and attached to the white card base.  Next I built my star layering the largest star on the bottom and then the star cut from the Glimmer paper.  I then layered the stamped star at an angle to that with the glimmer paper.  I used dimensionals for each layer to give the star depth.

Here is the picture of the Blackberry Bliss card.  Which one do you like better??

    Handmade Christmas Card

Today’s card is made with the Stampin’ Up! Wonderous Wreath Stamp set using Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky, Pear Pizazz and Silver inks.  I love the combination of blues and silver and have had this idea floating around in my head for a while.  Today’s card layout is inspired by the Mojomonday challenge for this wreathw

Here are the details for this card:
This is a long and tall card so the Whisper White Cardstock is cut to 9″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. to make a 9″ x 4 1/4″ card.  The next layer is pear pizazz cut to 4 1/8″ x 8 7/8″.  The next layer issilver wreathcu a piece of All is Calm designer paper cut to 4″ x 8 3/4″.
The next layer is a piece of silver foil cut to 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.  A piece of the silver All is Calm designer paper is cut to 2 3/8″ x 5 3/8″.
The Wreath is a 3 part stamp.  The first layer of leaves is stamped with Soft Sky ink and random leaves colored with a pear pizazz marker.  The next layer of highlighted leaves are stamped with lost lagoon ink.  The berries are stamped with silver ink and embossed with silver embossing powder.
The wreath is cut out using the matching wonderous wreath framelits.  A bow cut from the Silver Glimmer paper is added to the wreath.  This is layered on a 2 3/4″ square of whisper white layered onto Lost Lagoon.
The diagonal stripe is a piece of silver foil that has been embossed with the Stylish Stripes embossing foler.  Last but not least is the NOEL cut from a piece of silver glimmer paper and is attached to the bottom of the card.

      Handmade Christmas Card

Today I have a Handmade Christmas card that was inspired by a set of ornaments that one of my downlines made for an upcoming craft fair this weekend.
This card uses the Bright and Beautiful Stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I love the color combination of the Blackberry Bliss and Silver.  I would have never thought about putting those two colors together if I hadn’t seen the ornament that my friend made.

The card base is Whisper white cardstock with a layer of Blackberry Bliss.  I then added a layer of silver foil which I embossed with the diagonal striped embossing folder.

The stars are stamped with Blackberry Bliss and cut out with the matching framelits set.  I also cut an additional set of stars with the medium star framelit and the small framelit.  These are layered together and attached with dimensionals to add depth to the card.

Then of course I had to add a little bling to the card with the Rhinestone Jewels.

So which Christmas set is your favorite?

Here are the ornaments that inspired this card.  The colors on these ornaments are beautiful.  The blue  is new in-color Lost Lagoon.  The purple is Blackberry Bliss and the third ornament is Real Red.  I love the combination of the Blackbery Bliss and silver glimmer paper which encouraged me to design this card!

      Happy Stamping!

Handmade Christmas Card with Wonderous Wreath

Today’s card is made with the Stampin’ Up! Wonderous Wreath Stamp set with the Trim the Tree Designer paper stack.

      The details on this Card:

The Wreath is stamped on Whisper White cardstock.   This is a three part stamp set which means that you can add color to the image without having to color the stamp with markers.  The image is divided into three parts;  2 wreaths with leaves that line up and allow you to use shades of color to create a wreath with depth.

The fullest part of the wreath is stamped with pear pizazz (the lighter green color) and the highlighted leaves are stamped with garden green which is a shade darker.

What I love about this particular two part stamp set is the little tail on the bottom of the actual stamp. It makes this 3 part stamp set so much easier to line up!!  So to line up the stamps – make sure that you put your stamps on the blocks in the same direction with the tail pointing in the same direction. It makes the layers much easier to line up.  Stamp the third layer, the berries, with real red ink over the wreath.

Then cut out the wreath with the matching framelits..  The framelits also have the little tail to assist in lining everything up when cutting!  I love it!!

Of course I had to add a little bling to my card.  I used Red Dazzling Details to highlight the berries on the wreath.  I added “Joy” from the wonderous wreath framelits set cut from Red Glimmer paper.

This card was inspired by this week’s Mojo Monday Challenge.

Like these cards?  We are in the middle of the 12 Weeks of Christmas where I send out a Holiday idea each Wednesday to people on my mailing list.  It’s not too late to signup for my mailing list to receive the remaining Christmas Ideas each Wednesday from now to Christmas.

      Snowflake Flip Card

Over the past couple of weeks I have have posted several handmade card samples made with new stamp sets that are going to be in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog on August 28th.  One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is the ability to preorder from upcoming catalogs a month early which allows us Demonstrators to make samples to share with all of you before the catalog is released to customers.  Well the problem that I always have is deciding which setsSnowflake Flip Card I like best and which one to start with making samples.  Also which new Designer papers are my favorite. Yesterday, I posted a Holiday card made without a stamp set, but from paper and a tree die from the Snowflakes Card Thinlit set.  Here is another card made with the thinlit set.  I do really like the flip card patterns that Stampin’ Up! has come out with over the past couple of years. I have to admit that this card was not easy to photograph either.  Because it is a flip card, it keeps opening up making it very difficult to photograph! This card uses the Snowflake Card Thinlits dies to create the flip card. Cardstocks:
      • Soft Sky cardstock
      • Lost Lagoon cardstock
      • Whisper White cardstock
      • Dazzling Details Glimmer paper
      • All is Calm Designer paper
Snowflake Flip card         I love the snow scene look of the All is Calm designer paper.  And Holiday papers with the blue tones are always my favorite!  I didn’t think that Stampin’ Up! could top last years Holiday designer paper in the blue tones, but they have with this combination of patterns using soft sky, lost lagoon, smokey slate – which coordinates great with the Silver Glimmer paper and pear pizazz. The Card Details: The soft sky cardstock is cut at 5 3/8″ x 8 1/2″.  The designer paper is cut at 5 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ to layer over the fold of the card.  These are lightly adhered together and then run through my die cutting machine with the Snowflake Card Thinlits.  Once I run this through the machine and fold the card, I added a little more snail to the points of the snowflake and around the snowflake to better adhere the designer paper.  Once you fold the card, the side with the snowflake with the designer paper is on back.  I carefully cut out the snowflake and cut just a snowflake from whisper white using the thinlit die.    Need some help with this technique?  Check out my VIDEO HERE on how to use the thinlit die to cut the card base and a second white snowflake.   DSCN0440cu I used the medium snowflake die to cut 2 snowflakes from the lost lagoon designer paper and 2 small snowflakes from the Dazzling Details Glimmer paper.  These are layered on each dies of the flip portion of the snowflake.  snowflake flip cardA silver sequin is added to the center of the smaller snowflake from the Frosted Sequins embellishments.           On the inside flap of the card, I usDSCN0456wed a piece of 2 3/8″ x 5 1/4″ whisper white cardstock to layer on the inside flap of the card.  I added a small strip of dazzling diamonds glimmer paper along the bottom with a scrap of Lost Lagoon cardstock with a scalloped edge made with the scallop edge punch.  At the top of the piece I added the medium snowflake cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The word Sparkle is stamped with Lost Lagoon ink. As an added touch, I did some faux stitching around the large snowflakes.  On the front soft sky side, I used my white pen to stitch around the edge of the snowflake.  When you flip open the card, the inside of the snowflake and the white panel are stitched with my Lost Lagoon marker. Last but not least I added some of the sequins from the Frosted Sequins embellishments randomly on the card. You can start ordering from the New HOLIDAY catalog on Thursday August 28th.     signature line-003

Another Sneak Peak – White Christmas

My new favorite set from the Holiday catalog is White Christmas.  And once again Stamping Up! has designed a new Designer Paper for the Holidays with a blue tint..  I love this new paper, All is Calm and thought that last year’s blue hughed paper was my favorite!  So for my card and the details below… photo 3-2w Cardstocks:
      • Soft Sky card base
      • Whisper White
      • All is Calm Designer Series Paper
The focus of the card is a 2 1/2″ square piece of soft sky cardstock stamped with the trees from the White Christmas stamp set in White craft ink and embossed with White embossing powder.  The soft sky piece is layered on a piece of whisper white cardstock and then on a piece of DSP. The Ribbon behind the image is Lost Lagoon highlighted with a scrap of whisper white that is scalloped with the scallop trim border punch.   photo 5_treecu   The  Cardinals and snowman are stamped using Black Stazon ink and colored with our Stampin’ Write markers.     photo 3 snowmancuI used the 1 1/4″ scallop circle punch to punch out the snowman.  The banner is made using a 3/4″ x 4″ piece of the DSP.   I love the way the colors coordinate in this Designer paper.  The colors are Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizazz, Smokey Slate and whisper white.  There are two patterned sheets with silver hightlights in the package too. I have lots of ideas for this paper! Enjoy! signature line-003
