Rose Wonder Cards and an update

Today I am sharing a set of cards that I made with the Rose Wonder stamp set and matching framelits by Stampin’ Up!.  These are the cards that I made with my Stamper’s Club in April.   This is a beautiful stamp set and I am so glad to see that it made it into the new 2017 catalog that is coming out in June!  In the meantime you can still purchase this set as a bundle (140804) but the bundle option will be going away with the new Catalog.  So if you have been thinking about this set – now is the time to get it!

Rose Wonder Collage As you can see this set is really versatile and can be used several different ways.  The top right card is made with Blushing Bride, Basic Gray and White Shimmer paper.  The Rose is cut out using the framelits.  The rose is painted using Blushing Bride and Pear Pizazz inks with an aqua painter.  I love the watercolor effect!

The second card is made using Calypso Coral and Pear Pizazz on Watercolor paper.  The Rose with Leaves was cut out and used as a stencil for this card.  So the cut image was not glued to the card but used as a stencil to paint the flowers.  One of the keys to using Watercolor paper is to spritz the paper with a little water and to let the ink run a little.

The third and fourth cards are made with a layer of Whisper White and Night of Navy.  The key to these cards is to use the cut out image and the negative image to outline the card.  The blue Rose is colored with Lost Lagoon ink and an aqua painter.

Like these cards?  Are you interested in receiving cards ideas like these each month in your in box?  Think about joining my Stamper’s Club.  You receive the instructions each month for a set of cards made with a specific stamp set and Designer paper for FREE with purchase of $35 each month.  You can see more information about my Stamper’s Club HERE.

So an update on me – I know that I have been missing in action for the past few weeks.  I have been busy getting my house ready to sell and moving into my new place as well as going to Stampin’ Up! On Stage in Salt Lake City in the  middle!  Salt Lake City was fantastic as always.  I am always amazed by all the talented people that I meet each time I am at a Stampin’ Up! event and the friends that I get to catch up with that I have made thru the years!

So I am in my new house and in the process of setting up my new Creative Playground!  I am about half way there and still have lots of boxes to unpack!  But I am holding my first class on Friday.  The best part of my new house is the 1,000 square foot finished basement for Marilyn’s Creative Playground!  When I moved out of my Tewksbury house, I had things spread out between 3 rooms!  The best news is that all of my hard work on my house paid off.  I spent a lot of time painting, replacing carpet and freshening up some of the rooms in my house and it sold very quickly.  In the meantime – the cats and I have been camping out in my new place with very little furniture as it was left in the other house to keep it staged.  I can’t wait to move my bed over!

I will post some pics of my new space over the next few days as I unpack more things!

Take care and Happy Stamping!  don’t forget about ordering that Rose Wonder bundle before the bundle goes away and also stock up on your favorite retiring in-colors before they are gone!

Christmas Cards

100_9925copyHere are two more Christmas cards made with the set Bootiful Occasions.  I love this set with all of the different boots for the holidays.  But alas, I don’t have the set. These Christmas cards were designed by my upline Lynn Thieret for her Stamp-a-Stack class.  So which card do you like better? 100_9927 copy_edited-1 The first card uses the northern flurry embossing folder on soft sky card stock. The second is made with marina mist card stock.  The large snowflake from the festive Flurry set is stamped and cut out with the framelits.  A scallop circle is punched and sponged with marina mist ink.  The boot is stamped and cutout on top of the scallop circle. Christmas Cards

These are the last of the cards from my weekend retreat with my Stampion’ Team!  I love this cute 100_9937 card was designed by Laura Perriera!  This cute little elf is so sweet The elf’s legs are made with the Season of Style Designer paper.  The feet are made by cutting a top note die from Cherry cobbler card stock.   The bows on the elf shoes are two butterflies punched from gum ball green card stock.  The butterflies are cut apart and layered to look like bows.  The bows are made from the silver taffeta ribbon.   And to finish it off, the bells are punched from silver glimmer paper using the small scallop punch. 100_9930 copy This last card was designed by Deanna Czarniecki who is one of the most creative people that I know!!  This card is designed around the Festive Flurries stamp set and matching framelits. The card base is smokey slate.  This card is a gate fold card so is scored at 2 1/8″ from each end of the card base.  She layered a piece of whisper white card stock on the inside of the card and stamped the small snowflake in coastal cabana ink. Deanna stamped the small snowflake with coastal cabana ink and the medium snowflake with smokey slate ink.  She then cut these out with the framelits and also cut out a large snowflake from coastal cabana and the medium snowflake from smokey slate card stock.    She added texture to these snowflakes with the  polka dot embossing folder. 100_9941 copyTo layer the snowflakes, start with the large snowflake in coastal cabana and attach to the right half of the card.  NOTE:  Don’t add adhesive to the whole snowflake.  Just the side you are attaching to   the card!  Then layer the snowflakes stamped in smokey slate on top of the large snowflake.  Next on the left side start with the smokey slate snowflake and layer the coastal cabana stamped snowflake to the top. Deanna added a pearl jewel to the center of her top snowflake.  I used one of the frosted flurry embellishments. Simply Beautiful!!   signature line-003

Happy Halloween!!

100_9915 copy  Happy Halloween!!  Here is another card that moves designed for Halloween.  This card uses Halloween Happiness and the Best of Halloween stamp set.  The Haunted House is one of my favorite Halloween stamps that SU has designed over the year!! The designer paper on this card is the Witch’s Brew design.  The card colors are basic black and tangerine tango card stocks. So to make the unique fold, use a card stock base that is cut the long way 4 1/4″ x 11″.  Score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half.  Cut 2 1/4″ off the top half of the card.  Cut another piece 100_9916 of basic black card stock to 3″ x 8″.  Score at 4″ and fold in half.  Layer the bottom half of the smaller card onto the base of the larger card, folding in the opposite direction. With this card, the haunted house which is punched with a circle punch holds the layer closed!   Enjoy your Halloween and don’t eat too much candy!!   signature line-003

More Cards – Thanksgiving

Here are a couple of more cards from my weekend retreat!  The first is a quick and easy Thinking of you card and the second would be a great Thanksgiving card. 100_9933 copy The first card is made with Papillon Potpourri stamp set.  What a great thinking of you card!  This card was designed by my friend Dawn Burke.  She used the square lattice embossing folder to add a little dimension to the gumball green background. 100_9936 copy         This next card was designed by me.  I used the Truly Grateful stamp set with the woodgrain embossing folder.  I used soft suede ink with a sponge to add a little color to the wood grain background.  the second layer is stamped with pool party and the background stamp that is part of the Truly Grateful stamp set. Next is a piece of Sweater Weather designer paper cut using the labels frame lit die.  This piece and the pool party background piece are sponged along the edge with soft suede ink for a little dimension. I stamped the Wheat with cajun craze and tied a piece of linen thread around the wheat.  I then stamped the piece of wood and the chestnut with soft suede ink and cut those out.  The banner is stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge set and sponged with the soft suede ink.  Gorgeous grunge is a  great set to create backgrounds. The last post will be tomorrow with the last couple of cards! Want to participate in our spring retreat??  Join my team!!  We do a Girls weekend twice a year to the cape and have a great time!!  We all learn something new – even us old dogs that have been stamping for 12 years!!   signature line-003

More Cards from the weekend retreat

This cute snowman card was designed by Corine Mazza.  What you can’t see on this card is the 100_9939 copy sparkle on the snowflakes.  This handmade card is simply beautiful!   This next card was designed by Michele Lacerda.  She used the Winter Frost designer paper and the Festive Flurry stamp set with the matching framelits!  And what is a card without a little bling?  She added the Frosted Finishes embellishments to the center 100_9932 copy of the card and the narrow silver ribbon to the top!           100_9938 copy This last card was designed by Margaret Galvez.   This precious angel was made with a few different punches from the SU collection.  Te body is made up of the tab punch, with a circle for the head.  The wings are a butterfly cut from vellum!   So cute!!   signature line-003

Scrapbook Page

I recently had a request for a scrapbook lesson.  I love scrapbooking but don’t have enough time to do my own things..  So I used this opportunity to make a page using my daughter’s Sr. pictures from last year. The request was for a vintage scrapbook page.  So this is what I designed: 100_9874e I love this page and the way it came out.  So to start a vintage page, I looked at the current Stampin’ Up! designer papers and realized that we have several patterns that have a vintage feel to them! This is the Etcetera Designer Paper on a piece of 12×12 Very Vanilla card stock.   I used the Very Vintage wheel on the vanilla background with pear pizazz ink to give the vintage look to the vanilla background paper.  I selected 3 of the patterns from this designer package.  One of the things that I love about Stampin’ Up! paper is 100_9872e that all the colors coordinate with the cardstock colors.  So no searching for matching pieces.  I used Pear Pizazz cardstock and Pool Party to mat my pictures.  These are two of the colors that are in the Etcetera designer paper.   I stamped the flowers with the Flower Shop stamp set and punched them out with the coordinating Pansy punch. 100_9873eI used the Papillion Potpourri stamp set with the coordinating punch to make the butterflies. The center of the flowers are embellished with the pearl jewels.   The buttons are the Very Vintage buttons with linen thread through the holes.    The decorative trim along the top and bottom were cut using the Tasteful Trim Big Shot die.  Pearl jewels were added to each of these strips for embellishment. What is your favorite thing on this scrapbook page?   signature line-003

World Card Making Day

100_9851e1 Happy World Card Making Day!!  I unfortunately won’t be making any cards today as I am visiting my daughter at college for Parents weekend.  So will be watching football games and enjoying the college life again! But I wanted to showcase this secret garden card that one of my Stampin’ Friends made a couple of weeks ago.  I absolutely love this card! It is a 5 1/4″ square card made with midnight muse and very vanilla cardstock.   The flowers are stamped with daffodil delight and cut out with 100_9850e the coordinating Secret Garden framelits.  The leaves are stamped with marina mist.  The butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri set. The designer paper is Print Poetry from the spring catalog. The ribbon is midnight muse.   Enjoy your day!!  I hope everyone has a great day and receives a beautiful card for World Card Making Day! signature line-003

Thinlit Die Christmas card

Another card from my  Cards that Move series using the Circle thinlit Die.  This is a Christmas card that is made with the Season of Style Designer paper and the Ornament Keepsakes set which is still available. 100_9829_e1This card is actually a CASE (copy and steal everything) from one of my downlines, Michele Lacerda.  Michele is one of  several really great card designers in my downline.  i have a very talented downline and we have a great time when we all get together! In fact, our weekend retreat is coming up.  Want to join us on Cape Cod for a Girls’ weekend on October 26th?  Join my group! Demonstrator for 12 years (next week) and I am always learning something new from one of my team members.  You can watch a short video about becoming a Stampin’ Up! Dmonstrator here. So back to this card.  I used the diagonal stripe from the Season of Style designer paper in the Holiday catalog with accents using Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The ornament is stamped with Old Olive ink. and cut out using the coordinating Ornament keepsakes framelits.  Don’t forget to stamp two ornaments.  One for each side of the circle. And I really think the bling with the Champaign Glitter paper makes this card. Another Field Flowers Card

100_9749eGood Morning! Here is another Field Flowers card that I pulled out of my stash for this set.   I actually made this card a couple of years ago, but wanted to show you another Field Flowers card.  This really is a beautiful set and can be used for a variety of things – weddings, thinking of you, sympathy, mother’s day, birthday, etc. The details on this cards: 1.  The card base is marina mist cut in half at 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ to make the card base. 2.  The background is night of navy cardstock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed with a victorian embossing folder which is no longer available.  If I were making this card today, I would use the beautifully baroque embossing folder. 3.  I added a little dimension to the background of this card by stamping with the En Francais background stamp with marina mist ink stamped off.  I then used the now retired set – Fresh Vintage (a SAB set from two years ago) and very lightly stamped a couple of flower images, stamping off on scrap paper first.  I then very lightly sponged the edges of the white cardstock. 4.  The flower stems are stamped with Always Artichoke ink.  The flowers are stamped with night of navy.  I stamped the background image first on a scrap paper to “stamp Off” and create a lighter image for the background of the stamp.  I then used the detail stamp with night of navy ink over the background image. 5.  This piece is layered onto marina mist card stock.  I scalloped the bottom edge of the card stock using the scallop trim border punch. 6.  Next I stamped the sentiment “with Love” with night of navy ink and punched it out with the oval punch.  This is layered onto a piece of night of navy card stock punched with the oval scallop punch. 7.  Last but not least are the Embellishments.  I used a layer of Victoria Crochet Trim and the pearl jewels to accent the center of the large flower and the scallop on the bottom of the floral layer. I hope you have enjoyed this card sample! signature line-003
