I love this fun and easy to make Halloween Treat Box with Card using the Potions & Spells Bundle from Stampin’ Up!
The Potions & Spells Bundle has all the elements to design a vivid illustration of a bubbling cauldron, overflowing with an eerie potion. There is a bubbling image that you can stamp to show the potion boiling in the Cauldron.
Surrounding the cauldron are various potion bottles, which you can label with “Witch’s Brew,” “Ghostly Essence,” and “Goblin’s Delight.”
This stamp set includes a coordinating set of dies which cut out the many images available in the set. There is a Cat image and Raven image that can be stamped and cut from Black or Dark Grey CS. As you can see there are small circles that can be used to create colored bubbles!
Let’s Make the Box
- Start with a 7″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Cardstock. Score this piece at 1 1/4″, 3 1/4″, 4 1/2″ and 6 1/2″.
- Turn your CS and score down the long side at 1 1/4″. Fold along each of these score line.
- Use scissors to cut up each of the 1 1/4″ score lines to create tabs for the box.
- Check out the link below for the video with specific instructions to cut and glue the box together.
- Cut out 2 Cauldron images from a piece of Black cardstock to make the sides.
Let’s Make the Card
- Cut a piece of Lemon Lime Twist CS to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half to make the card base.
- Cut a piece of Basic Black CS to 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″. Attach to the card base.
- Cut a piece of Basic White CS to 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″.
- Use Scraps of Colored CS to cut out the various images (goop, bubbles and potion bottles) to decorate the box and card.
- NOTE: you can stamp the Cauldron or cut out the Cauldron image from Black or Gray CS.
- Add ribbon if desired. Add the white layer to the front of the card.
- Don’t forget to decorate the inside of the card too!
