Handmade Hello, Sailor card

Here is a clean DSCN0156w and simple card that I made using the new Hello, Sailor stamp set and the High Tide Designer paper from the Occasions catalog. This card uses Mary Jo’s sketch from the Technostamper weekly sketch challenge.  I love the color combination of this designer paper and card.  So the colors are:
      • Pacific Point
      • Summer Starfruit
      • Calypso Coral
The card base is whisper white with a layer of Pacific Point to set off the designer paper.  The sentiment is colored with the pacific point, summer starfruit and calypso coral markers.  The image is cut out with the Deco Labels framelits and layered with another Deco Label cut from pacific point card stock. DSCN0155cu   Tip of the Day:  To create a layer with shaped images, cut two images with the same die and cut the bottom layer in half.  In this case, my “Best Mate” is layered onto a piece of pacific point card stock also cut out with the Deco Label framelits.  Then trim off the points so they don’t show through. NOTE:  I was in a hurry when I made this post and forgot to mention TSSC306 that this card is for the Technostamper Challenge at www.technostamper.blogspot.com. Here is the sketch for this challenge!   Happy Stampin’! signature line-003

Technostamper Challenge 269

Well things are starting to slow down a little for me, if that can ever happen with my life!  LOL.  My son is off to his new adventures in Colorado starting his new job this week.  We will miss him but am so excited that he gets to start this new chapter in life! So I am down on Cape Cod for the summer (minus a couple of trips back to Tewksbury here and there).  But that doesn’t mean that I  am taking the summer off!  I am soooooo looking forward to going to convention with my stampin’ friends in 3 weeks!  Which means that I better get working on swaps! Today I jumped back into Mary Jo’s blog and the Technostamper challenge. TSSC269 100_9405 copy         I used the new designer paper Gingham Garden and the Flower Shop stamp set with the coordinating punch! I love the bright colors of this paper and the great patterns.  Rather than using a ribbon across the middle of the designer paper, I used some of the new washi tape that coordinates with the paper. The background flowers are stamped in daffodil ink.  the main flower is stamped with melon mambo ink and popped out with dimensionals.  Of course I had to add a little something to the center of the flower, so added a rhinestone pearl.  I wish I had the large pearls with me, but alas I don’t.  I can’t bring everything to my temporary stampin’ studio! The Hello Sweet Friend is from the new Six Sided Sampler Set and I used the hexagon punch to punch out the image. Stay tuned, my next Card Kit is going to be using the Flower Shop stamp set with the coordinating punch! This week’s order code is ZTX476TP.  Enter this code at the bottom of the order screen in the hostess code section! Enjoy your day! signature line-red

Hello my Friend

I had some time to play last night so worked on two challenges from this week. The first is the Technostamper Challenge. As you know ScreenHunter_87 Mar. 27 08.43 Mary Jo posts a sketch and we create cards made with that sketch. Here is the sketch for this week. I used the My Friend stamp set which I have had for a while but don’t see to use too much… 100_9192 copy   I used the Poetry Print designer paper from the current Spring catalog.  I hate to see that paper go!  such pretty colors.  The card base is Melon Mambo with Gumball Green.  I embellished the Hello with the pearl jewels.   A little stamping trick that I love to use.  Want a softer image but only have a darker ink?  Then stamp off on a sheet of scrap paper first. Don’t forget to check out what everyone else has done for this challenge on Mary Jo’s site.  www.technostamper.com signature line-red
