Fun Fold Window Card

Today I am sharing a Fun Fold Window Card that I demonstrated on my FaceBook page during my Monday FB Live. I love the Lights Aglow Designer paper. This 6″ x 6″ paper has a beautiful Gold Embossed design on each sheet.

Fun Fold Window Card

Cutting and Card Prep – see the video below for the details!

I am going to walk through all the pieces and dimensions for this card, but don’t assemble them yet as you want to measure the space to cut out the Round Window on the front of the card.

This card starts with an Evening Evergreen Card Base made from a piece of Cardstock cut to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. The second layer is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Gold Glimmer paper from the Glimmer Specialty pack in the July – Dec Mini Catalog. Next is a piece of the Lights Aglow Specialty Designer paper cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″. This paper is beautiful with an Evening Evergreen Background and Gold Embossed Holiday Trees.

Design NOTE: Don’t attach these pieces together until you have determined the where the “Circle Window” will be positioned.

The inside of the card showcases the Stampin’ Up! Regal Reindeer Stamp set. Inside is a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock cut to 8 1/4″ x 5 1/4″. It is scored at 4″ and 6 1/8″ to make the fun fold feature of the card.

Fun fold Window Card

Stamp and cut out your Design Element that will go into the Window section of your card. I stamped “Peace on Earth” with Versamark ink and embossed it with Gold embossing powder. The Layering Circle Dies were used to cut out the element.

Lineup the Very Vanilla Fun Fold piece on the inside of the card with the card base. I then lined it up my Circle Design Element on the fold and traced the circle to the inside card front and cut out the circle. Then I layered the front Evening Evergreen DSP onto the Gold Glimmer paper and cut the circle thru this layer.

Then use a larger Scalloped Circle die with the small die to cut a scalloped round piece to fit around the window on the front of the card.

I understand that the video for this particular card is not good quality. I have made another card with a different stamp set but the same technique. CLICK HERE if you would like to watch that video instead!

Time to decorate the Card!

Attach the Very Vanilla Fun Fold to the inside of the Card base with the fold being on the right hand side. Cut a piece of the LIghts Aglow DSP to 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the main panel of the Fun Fold. Cut the scrap to 2″ x 5″ and attach to the right hand fold section.

Stamp the grouping of Trees from the Regal Reindeer on the inside of the card using Shaded Spruce ink. Stamp the Child and Reindeer with Tuxedo Black Momento ink and color with Blends markers. Cut out with the dies. Cut out smaller individual tree from Gold Glimmer paper for the front and Evening evergreen paper for the inside.

Fold and Close your card. Line up your design element with the “window” on the front of your card and attach to the edge of the inside Fun Fold.

Enjoy!!
