Weekly Specials and Perfect Pines Card

I checked out today’s Weekly Specials and saw the framelits for the Stampin’ Up! Perfect Pines set.  So thought this would be a great card to share today.   One of my customers made this card last week at my Holiday Card Stamp night.  This card uses the Perfect Pines stamp set and matching thinlits from the Holiday catalog.

The patterned paper is Stampin’ Up!’s Merry Moments Designer paper from the annual catalog.  This Designer paper is layered with Red Foil and Gold Foil to add a little shine to the card!  The Trees are stamped with Always Artichoke ink.  The tree in the front is then stamped with the polka dot tree in gold and embossed to add embossed gold balls to the tree.  So pretty and hard to show in a picture!

The Whisper White layer in the background is embossed with the retired Northern Flurries Embossing Folder.

So pretty…  So don’t forget this week’s specials:

If you are ready to place your order, and your order is under $150, then use the hostess code 2CATZWT3
and I will send a ribbon sampler. I love to share the hostess benefits with my customers!

I hope you have enjoyed my Perfect Pines Card for today!

Reason for the Season Card

Reason for the Season

Today I am sharing a card made using the Stampin’ Up! Reason for the Season stamp set.  Poinsettias are my favorite Christmas flower so of course I had to have this set!  This card is inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

Even though this card looks complex it isn’t.  The secret to this card is the layers.  I layered each piece of Home for Christmas Designer paper with a coordinating cardstock.  With this card I used Mossy Meadow cardstock and Red Glimmer paper to outline the layers.

Here are the details for this card:
The card base is Very vanilla cut to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4″.  The next layer is a piece of Mossy Meadow cut to 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″.  I selected the Music pattern from the Home for Christmas Designer paper as the background paper for the card.   Next is a 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of designer paper with the Mossy Meadow Vine design.  The Banner is a piece of Holly designer paper cut to 2″ x 5″.  Next is a 2 3/4″ square of Designer paper with the house pattern layered onto a piece of Red Glimmer paper cut to 2 7/8″ square.

The circle in the center is cut using the Circle Framelits.  I used the 2″ Circle Punch to layer this onto a piece of Red Glimmer Paper.  The center is stamped with the message “Jesus is the Reason for the Season”.  season cu

Last but not least is the poinsettia.  This is a two part stamp which is great for allowing you to stamp an image with multiple colors without having to do lots of coloring!  The outline of the poinsettia is stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.  Next I stamped the flower with Read Red ink.  The leaves are stamped with Old Olive ink to show the details of the leaves.  I added a touch of Gold Dazzling Details to the center of the flower.

Here is a listing of the products that I used for this card.

Handmade Holiday card

100_0006ew  I love this Holiday card that one of my Stampin’ Friends create with the Holiday HOme and White Christmas Stamp sets!  My two favorite Holiday stamp sets from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog. Judy used the Zindorf Brayering technique to color the background on this card.  She made a mask using a circle punch with a post-it note and then brayered over the post it with Island Indigo ink to create the background sky. Stamping Tip:  To make the house pop and look like it is front and center as Judy did;  stamp the house first (after brayering the background) and then stamp the image again on a post-it not and mask the house image.  Then stamp the trees around the house.  Once you lift the mask – the trees will be “behind” the house and the house will be front and center. I also like the way that Judy lightly colored the house windows with a light yellow shadow to show light. A Beautiful Card! signature line-003   tams# 1665

Snowflake Flip Card

Over the past couple of weeks I have have posted several handmade card samples made with new stamp sets that are going to be in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog on August 28th.  One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is the ability to preorder from upcoming catalogs a month early which allows us Demonstrators to make samples to share with all of you before the catalog is released to customers.  Well the problem that I always have is deciding which setsSnowflake Flip Card I like best and which one to start with making samples.  Also which new Designer papers are my favorite. Yesterday, I posted a Holiday card made without a stamp set, but from paper and a tree die from the Snowflakes Card Thinlit set.  Here is another card made with the thinlit set.  I do really like the flip card patterns that Stampin’ Up! has come out with over the past couple of years. I have to admit that this card was not easy to photograph either.  Because it is a flip card, it keeps opening up making it very difficult to photograph! This card uses the Snowflake Card Thinlits dies to create the flip card. Cardstocks:
  • Soft Sky cardstock
  • Lost Lagoon cardstock
  • Whisper White cardstock
  • Dazzling Details Glimmer paper
  • All is Calm Designer paper
Snowflake Flip card         I love the snow scene look of the All is Calm designer paper.  And Holiday papers with the blue tones are always my favorite!  I didn’t think that Stampin’ Up! could top last years Holiday designer paper in the blue tones, but they have with this combination of patterns using soft sky, lost lagoon, smokey slate – which coordinates great with the Silver Glimmer paper and pear pizazz. The Card Details: The soft sky cardstock is cut at 5 3/8″ x 8 1/2″.  The designer paper is cut at 5 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ to layer over the fold of the card.  These are lightly adhered together and then run through my die cutting machine with the Snowflake Card Thinlits.  Once I run this through the machine and fold the card, I added a little more snail to the points of the snowflake and around the snowflake to better adhere the designer paper.  Once you fold the card, the side with the snowflake with the designer paper is on back.  I carefully cut out the snowflake and cut just a snowflake from whisper white using the thinlit die.    Need some help with this technique?  Check out my VIDEO HERE on how to use the thinlit die to cut the card base and a second white snowflake.   DSCN0440cu I used the medium snowflake die to cut 2 snowflakes from the lost lagoon designer paper and 2 small snowflakes from the Dazzling Details Glimmer paper.  These are layered on each dies of the flip portion of the snowflake.  snowflake flip cardA silver sequin is added to the center of the smaller snowflake from the Frosted Sequins embellishments.           On the inside flap of the card, I usDSCN0456wed a piece of 2 3/8″ x 5 1/4″ whisper white cardstock to layer on the inside flap of the card.  I added a small strip of dazzling diamonds glimmer paper along the bottom with a scrap of Lost Lagoon cardstock with a scalloped edge made with the scallop edge punch.  At the top of the piece I added the medium snowflake cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The word Sparkle is stamped with Lost Lagoon ink. As an added touch, I did some faux stitching around the large snowflakes.  On the front soft sky side, I used my white pen to stitch around the edge of the snowflake.  When you flip open the card, the inside of the snowflake and the white panel are stitched with my Lost Lagoon marker. Last but not least I added some of the sequins from the Frosted Sequins embellishments randomly on the card. You can start ordering from the New HOLIDAY catalog on Thursday August 28th.     signature line-003
